id much rather have an experienced coach . we arent "building" that much anymore the majority of that is over . we need to inject some tested knowledge into that line. sparano did an awesome job building them to what they are. and they are all still somewhat young . but he is moving on to better things. bring em in jerry

Who are the people convincing not to retire? Did you read that "he' not looking to retire...you cannot play golf all day"?

And, yeah, abersonc, that is just what the Cowboys need, right? Some young kid to come in and "learn on the job - OJT" instead of a proven line coach.

Football is a young mans game, but those young men have to learn from someone that's "been there, done that".

This isn't about being "liked" -- it is about having an appropriate barrier between someone who is effectively going to be your "boss"

Some guys can put that stuff in different boxes and separate the boss from the friend -- others, many others, simply cannot do that and will try to take advantage of the friendship.

You make a decent intelligent post or two before you start telling others to log off -- by my count that should happen sometime in May. May of 2013 that is.

Of course. That is the best thing! Someone that can understand what a friend is trying to tell you...to make you better. Communication...open communication, not someone that says "it's my way, you don't like it? Hit the road"! No, I will not give 100% for that person.

I had a job with a man that I have the most respect for in the world! Did we get along, yes. Did I agree with him on the job, or did he agree with the things I did for him, no. Was he someone that respected? Damn right...and he respected me in return. He was my boss, and after work, he took all of us out at times to have drinks and dinner togeather...just us men.

No, you need to follow the conversation! Not all of the people that I respect and like are my friends...however, to say that I cannot work or get along with people such as this is just crazy!
