Of course. That is the best thing! Someone that can understand what a friend is trying to tell you...to make you better. Communication...open communication, not someone that says "it's my way, you don't like it? Hit the road"! No, I will not give 100% for that person.

I had a job with a man that I have the most respect for in the world! Did we get along, yes. Did I agree with him on the job, or did he agree with the things I did for him, no. Was he someone that respected? Damn right...and he respected me in return. He was my boss, and after work, he took all of us out at times to have drinks and dinner togeather...just us men.

Log off...abersonc, before I sick theogt on you!

;)

You go ahead and lie and say that you NEVER take advantage of the situation. Yeah, you never called in the friendship card when you were sick in bed too hungover to work. Right.

Also, you said you "had a job." I you loved your boss so much why would you leave? Perhaps you should log off and go call your ex-boss and patch things up.

Uh...retired? Is that OK, abersonc? Should I go look for a job with someone I hate now?

No, you need to follow the conversation! Not all of the people that I respect and like are my friends...however, to say that I cannot work or get along with people such as this is just crazy!

Log off...DaBoys4Life...don't make a fool of yourself.

:laugh2:

you implied that they had to be your buddies in order for them to be you to like and respect them for you to say something like completely goes against this quote.

I don't know what world you live in, but the people that I like and respect are some of my BEST buddies!

Log off...abersonc.

what did you mean by that?

So maybe you need to follow what your saying mod

You don't want a friend. You want a boss.

Maybe the Colts should get rid of Howard Mudd. You know you don't want those "old" coaches in there. All that experience, but he's not young enough so they should fire him. He's 65 years old for cryin' out loud!

The skins and Joe Bugel? Dumb to hire that old fart, don't they know that "youth" is the way to go? He's 67 years old, get rid of him! Nevermind that the skins had one of the better rushing offenses in the NFL this year and their OL only gave up 28 sacks this year despite various injuries to their OL.

Hudson Houck is one of the better OL coaches of the last 30 years. If he wanted to come here Jerry would be a FOOL not to hire him (if Sparano leaves).

Does anyone even know how old Houck is? What's the age of other OL coaches in the NFL?

I find the whole "We need to develop an OL coach" freakin' hilarious.

I find the whole "living the past" deal equally hilarious.

Next thing you know, a "bring back Steve Hoffman" thread is going to break out.

How is it "living in the past" to bring in one of the best OL coaches in the NFL to replace Sparano (if he leaves)?

Just cuz he was here before we should avoid him so we don't get accused of "living in the past"?

Now that's freakin' STUPID.

Living in the past is wanting every ex-Cowboy coach from the glory days back here. Houck had a good run here -- but he also had some years near the end when the line just sucked.

Last I checked Miami's rush offensive wasn't so great and they were in the top third of the league for sacks allowed. Oh yeah, that team sucked and Houck got fired. So, yeah, nice job last year.

I'm not saying the guy is a bad coach -- he was very good and could likely come in and do a decent job. But you simply have to move on and go with some younger guys. Otherwise you end up with the Ernie Zampeses of the world running things.

I'll give you one thing -- you sure do know stupid.

Couldn't find a birth date... but Houck was a center for the Trojans of Southern California from 1962 to 1964. He won a National Championship as a member of the 1962 team.

That would probably make him close to the same age as me. 63-65

We never should have brought back Herschel Walker. Big mistake bringing back Tony Liscio. Really big mistake bringing back Ed Jones.

Never live in the past.

Ronnie Brown averaged 5.1 a carry, but he got hurt; Ricky Williams got hurt too. They didn't have a qb and they traded away Wes Welker and Chris Chambers. Houck actually got a lot out of a no-name line imo.

Nevermind all the injuries Miami suffered.

And I don't know you nearly as well as you think I do.

isn't retiring the same as leaving? how much mileage are you thinking we get out of a 65 year old?

Ronnie Brown played 7 games before he was hurt. How many did Miami win?

Chambers was there for 6 games. How many did Miami win?

That's a pretty low bar for "got a lot out of" isn't it?
