They said there is "internal discussion" on Murray possibly not being the return starter next year and looking at possibilities for what to do.

If true I am glad the organization is looking at getting better there and not resting on it's laurels.

I'm actually okay with this. The guy is a great talent, when he's healthy, he's productive; problem is, the guy can't be depended on.

Yoe can't rely on a starter that misses time every season, no matter how good he is. At some point you have to move on and find someone who ca stay healthy. Murray should at least stay with the team until his rookie deal is through but they should have another co-starter next year to go with him. Maybe it will be Randle. I think I would let Murray go and take the comp pick instead of giving him a new deal.

As much as I enjoy seeing DeMarco on the field, I see this as smart prudent management. The same things I harped on with Felix that pissed me off to no end have been happened to DeMarco as of late. I love the guy and hope he comes back like gangbusters but I can understand this if it is true. Competition breeds champions. Lack of competition breeds something a little lower on the totem pole.

I'm ok with it either way. He can't seem to stay healthy and is mediocre-decent when he plays, IMO.

I really like D. Murray but like you all stated, he just can't stay on the field, every year so I'm alright with thoughts of letting him go, but we need to make sure we get a good replacement for him. Randle is still unknown and I don't think Dunbar is that guy, so if Murray is in fact will not return than hopefully it will be a good draft pick, unless we get a good RB from free agency.

They also said something about keeping an eye out for a possible move in the next couple weeks. Jones-Drew?

It would make sense for both parties. My only concern is whether or not the Jaguars will be reasonable with their demands, and whether or not we can afford his contract.

Well the Cowboys should not give Murray a large contract for lots of years because of injuries(see other examples of salary cap hell{Ratliff and Newman}). Make Murray play for a one or two year reasonable contract to earn the contract, or if not let him walk.

@Michael_Fabiano: Per @RapSheet, Cowboys no longer sold on DeMarco Murray as their franchise RB. Watch them at the trade deadline. -> CJ Spiller, maybe?

The Cowboys get another year before they have to make a decision. This is his 3rd year. After this season, tender him with the min next year (what is it, around $1.5M or so) and see what he does.

Three years and three injuries. Not worth investing serious coin. This last injury, I didn't even see much contact. He just basically dove, fell on the ground, and sprained his knee. Good player when healthy. Unfortunately, he is in the same boat as Miles Austin. Tease a little and then go missing in action for months.

I didn't realize until I saw the replay(highlights) of his first Rams game how much he's not the same runner, he was much more elusive and quicker. Still good, but not the same.

I don't think he should get a new contract, period. He's a RB. He can be replaced with ease, if that doesn't happen with the two other guys we have now.
