Rumor: Philly signed Adarius Bowman

I called one of the Oklahoma City sports radio stations (WWLS) about 15 minutes ago and they said they're still trying to confirm the rumor of Bowman to Dallas. Not sure if this was the station originally reporting it or not.

It was, and then when Pat Jones went over to the WKY 930 side at 10:00, they repeated it there.

Thanks for calling them, though.

And I guess no mod is around to control this thread run amok. :(

Hot damn. Through about 3/4 of the season this guy was considered a 1st round talent.

He had 1000+ yards and 17 YPC in his last two season. He caught over 60% of the passes targeted at him, so he can catch. The guy just had a terrible Senior Bowl week. I think it's absurd to let one week of practice wipe out two amazingly productive years in college.

Great signing.

This is my thought on him, since we got him for basically nothing. This is a guy with the talent to turn into a gem that we got without giving up a pick. This could turn out real nice for us. I really think he'll be ready, by the start of the season, to take the roster spot from Austin.

I heard we sign Adarius Bowman, 6-4 220 WR from Oklahoma State (4.75 40) and then I hear that he went to the Eagles. Now I really like this guys potential and I see him as a sparkling diamond in the rough but I am getting too many different stories. So is he or is he not a Cowboy?

No confirmation either way as far as I can tell. He'll probably end up a Commander before the day is through.

Roy P At the Ranch Report said that Bowman was Red Flagged by the Cowboys Scouting Dept.

I'm not sure, he could be a pretty good player though so it would be a worthy addition. He's no TO but he's a decent enough player.

That's some hard hitting reporting there. A guy that got arrested for pot a week before the Combine was red flagged? Whodathunkit?

Happy now? :laugh2:

Yes. :)

I can see people logging on and thinking, "Three thousand views because Philly signed some undrafted WR?"

The whole league had him red flagged, thats why he went undrafted. The stakes are different when its a free looksee.

I'm actually relieved we didn't sign him. Once it got past Thomas, Nelson, Sweed & Hardy the only WRs I wanted were Doucet, Monk or Caldwell. The rest in this class were WRs I did not want to touch. I wouldn't have minded Arman Shields late. Monk is the only one I really wanted late though.

We wouldn't have drafted Bowman, we would have gotten him as an unrestricted FA. One thing to risk a draft pick on a risky player, quite another to waste some money.

It does beg of serious hypocrisy however...Pacman Jones who has been into everything imaginable for the last 2 seasons and somehow he didn't have the red flags that Bowman has for smoking weed??

Tank Johnson for having some insane arsenal at home?...Dixon with a rape conviction (Ok, it was bs and overturned but compared to weed?)...Just seems there are some bizarre standards in place when it comes to 'red flags'

Every undrafted WR would love to go to Philly. They got a high chance of making the team.

Bowman was kicked out of college for weed at North Carolina. He's long protested that he was completely innocent and that it was someone else's weed and that he was wrongly accused. Probably give the same bullcrap story to every NFL team right to their face at the Combine.

So when he's busted for week a week before the draft when his NFL career is hanging in the balance it's a triple whammy of being a drug user, being a liar and being stupid.

Oh give me a break. Who cares? It's weed. It's not like he snorted coke, like one of the most beloved Cowboys of all time did.

Does it make him stupid to have done it then, sure. But, really, weed is the least of my concerns on people who get into trouble.

Pacman gets into trouble for things that are far worse than weed, like being involved with fights that some how get people shot and crap, yet people were more than willing to take a shot on him.

But, oh no, the weed is horrible. Too horrible to give him another shot, he's obviously Satan.

Is he a pot smoker? Yes. Does it make him stupid to do things like that? Yeah, I suppose so. Does it make him the worst person to ever walk the face of the Earth? No.

For the record I'm not saying that it's cool, or ok, to smoke weed, I think it's dumb that people do it, but for the love of God it's not like he killed someone.
