I have inside info about the video and florio is absolutely right that it is like it

Remember how ray rice was in an elevator and hit his girlfriend ? Well this video is of Dez in an elevator with his girlfriend , he just does not hit her

See how the 2 are eerily similar?

I can see why the cowboys are worried

well if the video doesn't show him hitting her, how is that an issue?

Where is the video of Miss. State knocking out his girlfriend by busting her face with his fist? anything short of that disgrace, i think Cowherd and PFT are full of crap.

Colin Coward acTed as though he knew of the video months ago but didn't want to be the first to report it. Typical. I'm ready for this to blow over, I'm hoping this wasn't planted to derail the contract talks

So Cowherd saw a tape, but the Cowboys haven't. It doesn't make any sense. Dallas would not have offered a long term deal or be willing to apply the Franchise Tag if a video existed that showed any kind of DV. AND if Dez knew one existed he would have signed for 20m guaranteed which was the reported offer.

Sorry guys, I guess I should have been clearer
The point was the videos are NOT alike and the cowboys should not be concerned
People like Florio take stuff that us "similar" and make a mountain out of a molehill. They get away with it by saying stuff like rumored or similar etc

Until Goodell denies knowing of its existence I won't believe of such a thing.

I don't think Cowherd said he saw the tape. I thought he said he talked to people of the tapes supposed existence and that it could be damning to Dez.

The rumors keep popping up about this tapes existence and/or more stuff existing that could get Dez kicked out of the league, but somehow none of it has surfaced. I doubt things like this could truly stay in the dark. They would have to leak at some point.

16M is too much. Can we just get him to 13.5 with 30-40 guaranteed and end this charade that he won't be a Fitzgerald and play with Dallas for life?

He must want to make money from endorsements considering the Roc Nation thing. He would likely make much more from endorsements playing for the Cowboys than playing most other teams.

It seems that he just wants to esteem of the getting a mega contract as much or more than the actual money.

I still say give him a 10 year 300M contract that is actually a 4 year, 40M contract with minimal guarantees and he'll push his agents out of the way and sign it on the spot. I don't see him being able to resist signed the biggest contract ever even if it really wasn't. It's really all about ego and not really the money. I don't think he can't really even conceptualize the difference between 50M and 100M other than how it sounds.

A lot of generalizations in there I don't really want to touch.

Dez has arguably the best agent in the game negotiating for him.

A deal will get done.

I'm starting to agree with you. It really does sound a fake contract for looks matters more than the real thing for the actual money.

I might be exaggerating the numbers a bit, but I definitely see the concept working with him. He is very emotional and has already hired and fired his previous agent twice. I could definitely see him ignoring his agents when they tell him that it's all about the guaranteed money and not the total reported value of the contract.

I think agents only get like 3% on contracts but around 10% or more for endorsements. There is enough for Condon and Roc Nation to be happy.

I like your idea of making the deal look better than it is and I think that is what Dallas tried with the supposed 10/114m deal. They just need to go higher than the 114m. ESPN will initially report it as a 300m deal and everyone will go crazy for a couple days.

I wonder just how much of his agents advice he's listening to. If what jerry says is true and the Dez camp won't even respond, that doesn't sound good for the agent. Have to wonder if Dez feels so slighted he wont let the guy respond.

My understand is that Condon gets the percentage of his contract or at least most of it and Roc gets the endorse cut.

Even if it isn't true, proving libel is one of the most difficult things to do in a court of law. In order for libel to be proved, the following has to apply:
  • The allegation/story has to be false.
  • The person making the allegation or filing the story has to know that it was false, but did it anyway.
  • The person making the false allegation has to be proven to be doing this with malice of forethought, or, in other words, intending to cause damage to the person whom is being falsely accused.
It is one of the most difficult things to prove out in court. Sometimes something isn't libel - it's just poor reporting.

No one here is equipped to comment whether this is true or not, as we do not have enough information to make an assessment one way or another.

I agree with everything you say. But I do quite a bit of defamation law and the malice aforethought is news to me. Can you point me to a case just for my own edification?

That's exactly what I said this morning. I was listening. That guy really wants Dez to get in trouble. Can't stand Cowherd. He's been up Dez's *** for a while now with some agenda.
