Yes, he did. A ten year contract in fact. But, I think that was probably done just to keep him from taking the University of Texas job.

I will say this for what it is worth: He is a Texan. His wife is a Texan. He has never lived anywhere else. (People from the United States may not understand how those points factor into the equation, but they are BIG). He played high school football in Texas (state championship game he lost to Big Sandy with some player named Lovie Smith). He went to college in Texas. His wife went to college in Texas. His entire coaching career, high school and college, has been in Texas. And the pinnacle of all football jobs in Texas is that of the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. If Jerry Jones calls, he will answer.

I don't even live in Texas, but reading this post, I'm now a Texas patriot and have all sorts of sentiments for the state.

If the Cowboys began running that same gimmicky offense as Baylor, I'd be done with the NFL for good.

No interest watching video-game high school football.

Ehh, there was a time the shotgun formation was considered a gimmick. We cant give up on the NFL, gimmicks or not....Can we?

It just sucks to watch. College football has turned into a 51-45 game, and it bores me to tears.

If that comes to the NFL, I'm out. And it's getting really close. Teams score 30+ and lose way too much.

If our defense is going to give up 45, we may as well score 51.

Were you bored by the Broncos or Lions games? Seriously?

There is a reason I don't watch Arena football. And the NFL is moving dangerously close to that level.

I actually enjoyed watching that 18-16 Ravens/Lions game the other night. It just seemed so refreshing compared to the pinball game the NFL is becoming. I find good defensive quite entertaining.

But the NFL needs basketball like scoring to keep the ADHD youth of today interested in the product.

I'm actually with you. I love defense and hate how the powers that be continually favor the offense.

But that's a trend we can't do anything about. Might as well score as much as possible. And I really doubt Denver or the 2007 Patriots or the recent Saints teams were complaining about their offenses.

You fellas can make fun of it all you want and question my information, but I can promise you I'd cry for days if we hire Kiffin. I assume it would be as an assistant in some capacity, but certainly wouldn't like it.

Well, someone has to wake the old man up periodically.................easier if it's kin.

Kiffin is acutally a pretty good offensive mind, but he's absolutely terrible as a HC.

If we hire Lane Kiffin I'm done with this team. Real talk, that guy is a capital D-Bag

I don't know so I am asking?

What was the deal with him and the raiders?

Is he that bad? Zero potential?

And if he was any good he would be dumb to take HC job from Jerry after the Al Davis nonsense...

If they were once or twice a year, I wouldn't be.

But most NFL games now look like BYU versus San Diego State. That is boring when it's virtually like that every game.

It looks like two 10-year-olds playing Madden.

This team is definitely not boring. I thought I was having the big one the last game but Martha is not waiting on me. I have a few words for the current version of the Cowboys but boring is not included on the menu.
