I read it too. I could not locate the link. I think I read it on a Ohio State Buckeyes recruiting site. It provided the link.

Just a piece of info. Just read an article the other day that a very famous coach recently got in contact to bring in Lane in to consult with about the offense.

That coach is Nick Saban at Alabama.

Just something to consider. Even if a team has reached out to talk to another coach it does not always mean they want to talk about his possible interest in becoming a Head coach for that team. They might be like Alabama wanting to talk about offense with Lane. Or a few years ago when the Patriots coaches visited with Oregon HC Chip Kelly about offense and tempo. Or when some college coaches visit with NFL teams to learn things.

Just something to consider.

This was bound to happen LOL, it happened to me with my 100th post or so, I never did it again :)

Message to the OP, without a link nobody believes anything, I´ve been through it.
I said that my brother played golf with Mike Shanahan in Cabo and he told him he was taking the Commanders job 2 weeks later (this was around December 20th, don´t remember the year), nobody believed and I got like 100 responses like this one and guess what, two weeks later Shanahan was in announced as the new HC for the Washington Commanders, moral lesson, don´t take it personal.

edit: I found the link LOL

Cool story bro.

Everyone knew Shanny was going to be the HC before he was hired.

Remember what the skelatal remains of Al Davis said when he fired Lame? Liar and fraud. That was the first thing he saw clearly in three decades.

Oh man, can anyone imagine...we finally get rid of the Garrett family and replace them with the Kiffins.

Picture this:
Walk-around HC - Lane
DC - Monte
OC - Wade Wilson

Marinelli bolts to wherever Lovie goes. If this exact scenario were to happen, that could very well be the last straw for me.

as nauseating as this sounds to you and me, i will guarantee you one thing:

the usual suspects on this site will be in here telling us how great the hire is and to give it time

How about this my friend? Obviously a Cowboys fan and also a Brooklyn Nets fan..been a nets fan since they came into the NBA. Anyway...both these teams not playing great and they both have head coaches named Jason that are in so far over their heads that they cant do anything right during a game.

Maybe when Peyton is done playing if he's interested in coaching they could hire him.

I'm serious. I think he'd make a great coach. Unless he's burned bridges there or something.

I've thought about it too, if he decides to become one, he will be a great coach. He has been the de facto OC for years, and probably the best in the NFL. He could jump directly from QB to HC.

He has all the makings of a coach but after I thought about it he seems to be a very good businessman with all the Papa John's he owns & when he's done with football he may be done.

I can see UT at least asking him to come back in some capacity. I imagine in TN he's revered.

He may do that, but he is insane about football, just look at this picture, he wasn't able to practice due to a sore ankle so he wore his helmet to hear the calls at practice while cooling his ankle on the tub and reading the playbook.

That's the most Payton Manning photo ever. It may be hard for him to give up football.

You fellas can make fun of it all you want and question my information, but I can promise you I'd cry for days if we hire Kiffin. I assume it would be as an assistant in some capacity, but certainly wouldn't like it.

Yes, funny how everyone just assumed it would be for the HC position.

haha, thanks my friend, I sure was thinking "why I am posting this, nobody is going to believe me anyway" but decided to anyway.
Shanahan owns a home in Cabo and my Bro used to live there, at the time, there were rumors about it but nothing definitively so I decided to share the story.

My trepidation with Briles as either HC or OC is that his offense is designed to create downfield throwing opportunities. It's a vertical passing attack. We've seen time after time again that one of Romo's weaknesses is the deep ball. He's great underneath and intermediate (especially the seam) but those 9-routes and deep posts are not his strength. I'm sure Briles would adapt and create a net positive out of this offense... but just something to think about.

Our vertical passing attack bols, because of us not establishing an effective play-action threat and our simplified schemes. Romo was killing it down the seams on Sunday.
