Running back candidates

Arian Foster is a beast I wouldn't be opposed to that guy at all

It was a story because fans like you tuned in and generated clicks.

Last year when this same activity happened you wouldn't have tuned in. So it didn't make the news.

But this happens every year. We have to fill a 90 man roster. How do you do that?

It's actually a story because our success last season was directly attributed to running the ball and we lost the AP Offensive Player of the Year and MVP Candidate and haven't replaced him with anyone notable enough to stop the non stop questions, speculation, and national interest in this story.

Blame anyone you want for this being this biggest offseason story outside of deflate gate but it won't change it. You may not agree with it and acknowledge why but it doesn't change it. You will have a frustrating offseason if this bothers you because it won't stop. No guarantees it stops even when the season starts.

Also it's May. What are you expecting to come to this site and read? The ever exciting upcoming training camp battle for punter?

If we had resigned Murray, traded for Peterson or drafted Gordon, Gurley ect then we wouldn't have brought in the trio of 3rd tier backs yesterday. We already have enough of them on the roster. Randle, Williams, and Dunbar have those roles covered. You don't work out past starters and veterans as training camp bodies. Those roles are generally for the younger guys with higher potential upside who you can stash on your practice squad after camp.

I don't see us taking a look at Alex Barron, Ryan Harris or Oniel Cousins. It is pretty obvious they are desperately looking at RBs. If you can't see so yourself you need to take a good look in the mirror and wave.

No, they're not desperate. They're likely more concerned than they want us all to believe, as they should be, but they're not desperate. Seriously, what team is desperate in May? They're doing what good teams do all the time - looking at players they might need down the line. McFadden and Williams both have injury histories. Even if they do feel really good about them now, they'd be foolish not to plan for that contingency.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be doing - or shouldn't have done - something to address the RB situation. I'm not crazy about what we have. But talk of desperation is taking it too far.

And yes, they will be looking at OL at various points throughout the year. It won't be God awful ones like the ones you listed (and the RB's we brought in aren't great, but they aren't bottom of the barrel either), but they will work guys, we just likely won't hear about it.

yes please

Dallas Cowboys: Jerry Jones appears to be content with starting the season with Joseph Randle and Darren McFadden running behind the best offensive line in football, but Rice could be an option if something happens to either player (Randle has had his own off-field issues, and McFadden has an extensive injury history). As he's shown with the additions of Greg Hardy, Randy Gregory and La'el Collins, Jones is willing to take some chances on players with behavioral and/or legal issues in their past.

Dallas Cowboys

If we were picking a destination for Rice today, it would be the Cowboys. As it stands, Dallas is banking on Darren McFadden filling the shoes of 2014 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, DeMarco Murray. While McFadden certainly has the ability to do just that, he has had issues staying healthy throughout his seven-year NFL career. Rice would not only provide the Cowboys with injury insurance, but he could also very well step into a starting role and excel. Let’s also not forget that the Cowboys aren’t afraid to gamble on a player with a less than stellar track record off the field.

I would rather watch Romo from the shotgun passing 50 times per game than to see Ray Rice in a cowboys uniform.
Felix Jones, Tashard Choice, or anyone who gets cut from any sorry team would be a better signing than Ray Rice.
We have to draw the line somewhere. Hardy was found guilty of pushing his ex girlfriend. We all saw with our own eyes what kind of person Ray Rice is. No way.

I'm ready for Randle to take over. Hand the man the rock and see what he has to offer. And play DMC on clear passing downs

Because Carolina law has to say youre guilty for the trial to go to a jury.

A high profile case like his was always going to find him guilty unless she told them she wasn't telling the truth.

Not 1 time was there talk about domestic violence in the police report.

All the witnesses claim what Hardy told the court was the truth.

She bailed on the trial.

you live under a rock my friend - police do not get called for a push

we no nothing of what really happened in either case

You misunderstood my post obviously. When I said Hardy was guilty of pushing his ex girlfriend, I meant guilty in the eyes of the NFL. He isn't guilty in the eyes of the law for anything. The league did an investigation and only found that he pushed her.

We do know what happened with Ray Rice. We all saw the video of him knocking her out and dragging her body out of the elevator.

Police were calling by Hardy to remove her from his home because she wouldn't leave.
You must live under a rock. This has all been discussed before and we know enough to not make a statement about "police don't get called for a push".
Welcome to the board. I hope you stick around.

Have we looked at other positions as well? Are we desperate there as well? Why didn't we just sign a bunch of UDFA RBs as well as invite some FAs in here? We must be desperate at OL and WR as well as LB since we are stockpiling them.

Churning and looking to churn the roster is an unending process year long.

Maybe they are hedging their bets on McF, Randle and Dunbar being successful and/or unhealthy. That's not being desperate but responsible. You hope for the best and plan on the worst.

Right now if wind blows and grass grows X RB is just around the corner.

It's not so much the position but the players........Felix, Tate and Thomas. It's one thing if your bringing in some more undrafted rookies but to be bringing in these bums is another.

Heck if we sign Felix, I can wear my jersey again I have in the back of the closet. I thought he was going to be something. Maybe behind this line, he can redeem himself and show us he as good as Murray. I say let get Felix in here and run to the Superbowl. What say you?
