Running back candidates

Brandon Cottom RB/FB
Purdue
Signed as an UDFA by Seattle

6'4" 262 rarely used RB/FB from Purdue. Many in and around the organization questioned the coaching staff of the offensively challenged Boilermakers for not giving him the ball.
If he winds up being a cut down casualty by the hawks I wish our FO would give him a chance. Good hands, ran a 4.6 at 262 lbs, great blocker. Kid is just a load to bring down. Tough yardage type of back that could compete for the dirty yards. I know he's a Seahawk for now but beats rehashing the same stuff. Just somebody to keep an eye on hopefully.

Dont think SEA wants him other than being a FB. I wouldnt want him running behind this zone blocking scheme running a 4.6 in underwear. Which would def be 4.7-4.8 with a full uniform on. Dallas doesnt really want a big back. Theyre definition of a big back is just a RB who can get yrds between the tackles. McFadden can do that for those who watched him in oakland. Ben Tate could do that aswell. With Randles legal troubles behind him i expect him to get alot more touches this yr. nd the way he ran last yr thats a good thing.

Some of naysayers need to sit back and let the team worry about what they have and dont have. Youre going to wreck your brain with all of these GM duties you guys put on yourselves :)

Also, his 4.6 is at his pro day, so you can automatically add at least 0.15 to that time. :p

yeah. i dont think people n this forum understand how much this organization wanted McFadden, they got him dirt cheap with not alot of wear and tear. And they intend to team him up with a young fast RB in Randle/Williams.

Seems like a situational runner as he doesn't have much of a burst through the hole. His timed speed doesn't really match his game speed.

Probably kind of like a poor man's Brandon Jacobs as a best case scenario.

He is a FB type that can carry the ball occasionally.

I think the one to keep an eye on from Seattle is the Rawls kid. If he can't unseat one of the incumbents, he may be available, and Dallas was really trying to sign him as a UDFA.

I refuse to worry about the RB's until TC goes into full swing and they look like doggie doo doo from start to finish.
I refuse. I let you Sky-Is-Falling Hens cry and cluck thread after thread, post after post.

Saying the same spew every day...

I firmly believe some of you wake up mornings in a cold sweat yelling "Running Back!", scaring your significant other (if you have one, then it just may be your dog, or cat, or whatever) in the process.
This shall be my only post about RB's until either a significant player acquisition(s) happens and I just have to talk about it, or they really are doggie doo doo and we have a known, legit problem that's rearing it's ugly head.

Until then: you guys cluck cluck. I'll read some of them. Not all of them. Depends on the poster, admittedly.

That's how I see him
And to be active he would have to bring something on special teams
It's hard to have so many players who can't help on special teams

I a gut feeling that Randle, McFadden and Ryan Williams are these Cowboys versions of Derrick Lassic and Sherman Williams

Not a huge stretch, but if you're right... I may just consider taking you on a Vegas expedition. I always look for "Lucky Fools" who may either just make me money, or at least allow me to have a good time in their presence.
I think you may provide both.

C'mon people! The life of an Outlaw is dying faster than the arctic ice sheets! Allow me to continue to live how I like for just a few more years until absolutely everything is recorded in realtime and nothing we do is innocent any longer.

I'm going out like a Roman Candle...
Literaturically speaking, of course.

Like My Don King-isms?

Peterson clearly will do everything in his power to make things as uncomfortable as possible in Minnesota. I won't be surprised if he no-shows training camp, if he's still there....
