Running back candidates

Cowboys work out rbs literally every offseason. In fact that's how we acquired Ryan Williams last year when we had Demarco Murray.

This is how normal teams operate.

Is this people's first time following a team in the offseason?

Yea this situation isn't unique at all right?
I wonder why us working out running backs was the top story on NFL total access today? Why did they dedicate so much time to talking about it? I don't remember them doing this when we worked out Ryan Williams last year. I don't remember them talking about all of these normal teams working out these running backs...

I wonder why this is even a story? Hmmm... I guess it's the first time the NFL network followed a team in the offseason......

Two team leading rushers, Justin Forsett and CJ Anderson were signed in spring time as free agents so you never know what or who's capable of doing a decent job as a back.

And Kurt Warner went from supermarket checkout boy to NFL MVP...I hope the scouts are ready to find Romos replacement at the local grocery store or super Walmart.

I have never heard such whining and complaining about absolutely nothing. Come on, grow a pair of something.

The FO is bringing players in at different positions to test them out. Hell, Felix was probably brought in as a favor to him and his agent. Kicking tires. With players like this you can kick tires.

However there is a PROTOCOL in the league for dealing with players. For instance you aren't going to ask CJ to come in for a veterans "work out." If you ask CJ to come in, its got to be with the assumption that, all things being equal, you are probably going to sign him. He's too good to be treated as a "flyer" (or, its possible they just don't like him for either on field or off field reasons).

The cowboys aren't interested in signing someone who they will have to pay a decent amount of money to UNTIL they get to test their current flock of runners.

Once they test their runners, they will be able to more clearly assess who they might need, if anyone.

Meanwhile, they are just kicking tires, while they have time, without having to make any signings or trades that will mean $$ and commitments to backs they don't know if they need.

This is not rocket science. I hope the reactions in this thread are mostly because people are bored.

Why is everyone killing the Cowboys for not signing CJ? No one else has either. Who in the NFC East is definitely better than Randle? Answer is no one knows including the Cowboys. If he's straightened up like he says he has (I doubt it but that's not for now) then he may be the 2nd best back in the division.Does Alfred Morris scare you or Shane Vereen?

I want to see him run behind this line. Maybe his speed keeps up towards end of year unlike Murray. Maybe it doesn't.

If you had a stock that had the potential to be a home run would you sell it for something that was definitely above average but no better? Why not give the stock a sample size to see how it performed and if you're losing money then go get the steady one.

Is this a trick question? I was never good at these so I pick all the above.

I remember a time when when the team always seemed happy with its roster. It seems JG is following the Parcells Mantra, churn the bottom of the roster at worst they get cut at best the sky is the limit.

hey bro first off don't call me your bro cause I am not

am not starting any argument

just stating FACT

I have read on here many times

RBs are a dime a dozen

I think the conventional wisdom has been good running backs can be found in the middle - or even late - rounds, and there were a couple of very good backs taken as late as the 5th round. So, the conventional wisdom was true this year, we just didn't select one of them.
