Running back candidates

Give me Chris Johnson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not gonna happen cause JJ said so....

Johnson expressed his desire to play for Dallas earlier this week but the interest doesn't appear to be mutual. Going on 30, Johnson hasn't drawn a lick of interest since the Jets declined his option earlier this offseason. Owner Jerry Jones said the Cowboys haven't had talks with free agent RB Chris Johnson.

Smart shrewd handling of the Chris Johnson situation by our FO. I absolutely love it. He's just looking for a paycheck and they told him "nobody got time for that".

Sadly, he has a better recent history than McFadden. Tate had an awful year last year, but the previous year averaged 4.3 YPC on 181 carries for Houston. He also averaged 5.4 and 4.3 his first two years with the Texans (albeit in a backup role).

I don't dismiss him for that reason. If we can bring in McFadden, who averaged less than 3.5 YPC each of his past three years, I don't know if we can say Tate wouldn't end up being the better player.

Now, I think there are better players out there for us to consider, but I'd be OK with Dallas bringing in Tate for look-see rather than doing nothing at all. He's still young and like with McFadden (with everyone blaming Oakland's line for his three years of failure) there may be circumstances that led to him suddenly falling off last year after three good years. He's more proven than any of the backs we are currently carrying.

I agree and am not like some here that think DMAC is going to suddenly be a good runner...he is what he is and that is not a bellcow..

I am GROOT!

LOL! More like Poot. Or, at least his career has gone to poot.

I dont mind working people out but why bring these guys in over johnson?

Johnson would want guaranteed money and more than the veterans minimum.

They could bring a guy like Tate to camp and later cut him and the cost would be Zero against the cap.

I don't see where Chris Johnson is currently in a position to demand anything, and why would he try?

He'd come for the same bag 'o chips that it took to get McFadden.

Beggars can't be choosers.
