Early rumors are that you may be able to add McCoy to that list also. Sounds like the Eagles may not be too keen on paying McCoy his upcoming 2015 salary. He may be a restructure candidate but it seems fantasy football players aren't the only ones who have fallen out of love with McCoy. It's worth watching.

McCoy is exactly what this team doesn't need. He is the antithesis of Murray, a guy who doesn't always play hard and certainly doesn't know how to pick up tough, grinding yards. Chip Kelly fully recognizes that. To go from Murray to McCoy would be one of the all time blunders in team history, I can promise you that. It would be a move that could single handedly destroy the identity of this offense.

Completely forgot to list McCoy. I think there is a good chance he is released if he doesn't take a pay cut.

The era of big money for running backs is over, at least for now.

I personally want no part of McCoy, I agree with DWhite fan, I want a back that can catch the ball out of the back field and pops the blitzer when the come through the line of scrimmage or around the end. Murray is awesome at that and from what I've seen so is Ingram. I like Randle just don't know if he has that ability.

I will wait to see how the chips fall after the SB is over...many of the "available" guys will re-sign with their current teams, and Murray could as well...but, a lot of these things depend on a lot of moving parts...just in Seattle, they have to wonder if Lynch is coming back as well as signing their franchise QB to a mega-deal; if some of the reports are true, Wilson could be the highest paid QB out there when it is all said and done...it would be tough for them to do that AND bring in someone like murray...but, the dominos have to fall first in some cases

I would still love to see murray back in Dallas, but not at $6m/yr for 4 or 5 years....that scares me with his injury history, prior to this year...

Agreed. I'm just pointing out the fact that McCoy could be a FA which further floods the RB market and Murray's value. A lot of FA RBs are going to be out there and I don't see a mega deal coming for any of them. McCoy further illustrates to the market that big time deals for RBs is a bad idea. The fact that McCoy just recently signed one and will be back out on the street is going to give owners pause about signing any of these guys (including Murray) to big deals. It was a short 2 years ago that McCoy was the darling of the league and now there's a chance that he's going to be released and the Iggles are on the hook for a decent portion of his SB against the cap. I think this all plays in our favor when it comes to getting Murray re-signed (which I hope we can do on a reasonable deal).

Y'all seem to forget that a single back (Murray) system, with a guy who is physical enough to handle being the workhorse (Murray), who's very strong, smart, and fast enough to be the best RB in the NFL (Murray) , was more than half the reason this team was 12-4 this year. Not only will it be several steps backwards for us offensively if he leaves, it will put a HUGE question mark in the minds of most of the guys on the team. This is the kind of thing that will kill the chemistry of a team and franchise.

Stop with this Randle stuff. He's dumb and has very poor judgement. His body type and running style would translate into being able to carry the ball 10-12 times a game with less than 500 yards on the season. We would go back to seeing Romo have to pass the ball 40 times a game.

This isnt murray's first year in the nfl. The full pool of data suggests that the guy youre describing as the workhorse that can handle all that work is not on dallas' roster.

The days of drafting a rb in the first round are gone so drafting high end linemen and rbs are not mutually exclusive...and there is way more money to be saved right now by drafting a rb.

You must have be confused with someone else. I never mentioned Randle.

If Romo did that same deal and people actually saw the details they would be up in arms about it because Tony is "one hit away from retirement". If anything, when the defense improves, I'd like to see us become more aggressive on offense in the passing game.

That is how you end up getting large margin victories and force teams to pass the ball on you. Turnovers + stopped the other team from scoring is much better than turnovers but you still let the other team score.

You seem to forget what type of defense we have. That's not going to change in one off season. If you want to compare teams in the playoffs still, the team you have to compare us with is Seattle. Ball control and Marshawn carry that offense...just like Murray and ball control carried us this year. Our team is not built like NE, Indy, or GB. Who cares if they don't run the ball, totally different teams!!!

You're right Lynch does carry that offense. And he doesn't get 380+ carries or whatever it was. He had 266 this year. That's a good number for any back.

Im totally for having a stud RB, but its not remotely a prerequisite to success.
Sure helps though....and certainly if your defense is average.
