RELEASED Rush released

You'd obviously let fear dictate your move here, playing scared.

I would jump all over this, if only I were GM for a day.

It doesn't matter how prepared a QB is if they don't have the talent in the first place.

There are several guys with talent. It's not like you need months and months to learn a playbook.

Know of any QB that’s currently available that’s sure to be better than Cooper Rush or Will Grier? Wouldn’t be a very wise move signing some scrub on the street who’s never taken a snap with the team. There’s a reason we have training camp. The Cowboys made a trade for Matt Cassel a few years ago during the season and he ended up being worse than the QBs we had.

You know you're pretty good at back-up QB when the guy won a critical mid-season game for ya in Minny last season.

Just sayin. We'll be fine.
he was 10 of 31 in that game lol yeah thats real good !

Did you watch the Broncos preseason game?

Have you ever watched tape of Strong in college?

Anecdotal instances aside, we can upgrade our talent level there for free right now.

I guess it's how you think about it. I'm personally aware that any time a QB plays a few games that it's possible they could have a few bad outings. A lot factors into this besides it being just the QB themselves.

But I take risks all the time. This would be one of them.

Taking a risk averse approach has never won Jerry anything, either. And I doubt buildling a roster out of familiarity helps us right now either, if it comes to that.

In any case, if the Cowboys are happy with what they saw this preseason, I'd have to question what seems to be their lack of judgement.

Yes, the line was awful, and yes, I wasn't at practice and they were. But even on his best day, which was Minnesota, it was still easy to see what Cooper Rush really is: not that good.

I watched our preseason game against the Broncos. Are you talking about Carson Strong? He plays for Philly. Not sure what you’re talking about.

Philly cut Carson Strong

Right on. There are certainly better prospects for the future, but not for game 1. If Dak goes down with a concussion in the 1st quarter of game 1, you might as well throw in the towel for that game with a QB that's not been in camp and doesn't know the playbook.

I don’t see any better prospects out there than what we had if Dak goes down at any time during this season. Backup QBs don’t get very much practice with the staters during the season. We need to start the regular season with a backup QB who went to training camp with us.

Bring in Fitzmagic! I love that dude. He either gets you 5 td's or 5 int's, there is no in between.

Kellen Moore....the smartest man in the room. He plays chess....while everyone else plays checkers. ALWAYS 5 steps ahead of everyone else.

How long can you hang onto that one game in the QB resume?

Until you screw up a real game, I suppose.

Certainly can hang through the next preseason in my book at minimum.

In the internet age, there should be penalties to people too lazy to look something up before they post... it's just not that hard, people. C'mon.

Agreed. I was talking about somebody for the PS that could maybe compete next year.
