6:45am: Zelensky vows tangible response after Lviv strike kills four

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed a "tangible response" following a Russian missile strike on an apartment block that killed at least four people in the western city of Lviv.

"Consequences of the night attack by Russian terrorists," he wrote alongside a Telegram video post showing a ruined building. "Unfortunately, there are wounded and dead... There will definitely be a response to the enemy. A tangible one."

Lviv. Consequences of the night attack by Russian terrorists. Unfortunately, there are wounded and dead. My condolences to the relatives!

There will definitely be a response to the enemy. A strong one. pic.twitter.com/9yl1MT6Eu4

This is what Ukraine has been running into for over a month now:

BTW, r/UkraineRussianReport is probably the only source that has footage from both sides.

Why would they blow up a nuclear power plant in a territory they control & invite NATO to the conflict?
They wouldn't. Just as Syrian's National Army finally had the Rebels on the run...so Assad naturally decided to "gas" his own civilians to open himself up to Western intervention?
Sometimes when it makes no sense, it's because there's no sense to it.

I don't believe this story one bit. If anything, Ukraine has much more to gain from a nuclear disaster. It would open the door to intervention. It's not surprising this story kicked up once the offensive went left.

On the eve of next week's NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told FRANCE 24 he was confident an agreement could be forged to bring Ukraine closer to NATO. In addition to providing practical support and creating a Ukraine-NATO council, he said that a text was being drafted to chart a way forward for Ukraine's future membership in the Atlantic Alliance.

Stoltenberg says NATO will invite Ukraine to join ‘when conditions are met’

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told a press conference in Vilnius Tuesday that the Alliance will extend an invitation to Ukraine to join when "members agree and conditions are met". The lack of a timetable for Ukraine's membership pathway angered Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who before arriving in Vilnius earlier Tuesday tweeted that the plan was “absurd”.

This message is consistent with comments from NATO dating back several years ago. At that time, the "conditions" revolved around business transparency, and alleged corruption among others.

To be honest, I have surprised with the recent talk about Ukraine joining NATO. I suppose the talk could have been more saber rattling than anything else. Zelensky was banking on drawing NATO even deeper into the conflict.

To put this in context, the Korean War never ended... Because the US Administration would not use tactical nukes, as prescribed by General Douglas MacArthur, the former Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers.
