They wanted our #1 and Ware for Calvin Johnson. No thanks.

I'll take Ware and Roy Williams for Crabtree and our 3rd round pick.
Calvin is a freak though. he had 1,000 yards receiving and 10 tds on the worst team in football and doing so with 3 different qbs.

You seem to be on his payroll, so I'll just let the future sort this one out. Thanks anyway.

:laugh2: That is a good choice to back out before you make a fool of yourself any further.

You seem to be on a roll of saying some of the dumbest things today.

I don't care what he is, he's not worth Roy and Ware.

Crabtree is nowhere near the athlete you make him out to be and he won't do anything near what he has if he isn't in a west coast offense. His height/weight is comparable to Andre Johnson, but Johnson is MUCH more athletic.

Maclin is a fairly polished WR and will be a #1 before Crabtree IMO. He has good size and is far more athletic than Crabtree. Plus, he's a better fit for intermediate/deep passes than Crab.

edit: That list of teams he'd be #1 for is way off IMO. The guy is gonna go in the mid to late 1st round--where he should go.

Maclin absolutely will not be drafted before Crabtree.

all i'm saying is I can see why they asked for that much. his final #s on the season were 78 catches, 1,331 recieving yards and 12 tds. can you imagine what he would do on even a decent team? he's a freak!

Didn't people use the same argument with Roy Williams, when he was with Detroit?

I wouldn't want the #1 pick, too much guaranteed money to pay.

I would have traded up to #4 or #5, somewhere around there, depending on how he does at the combine.

He's going 3-5 with the 2 blue chip QB's coming out. Still too much guaranteed for my liking even though Crabtree will be a stud by year 2. Our first and a player? Player like who? If we were a team to warrant a top 5 pick I'd say it's worth it but we are not.

Get me a coach to whip some butt and put a staff together in all 3 facets and we benefit more. Safety, NT, ILB and o-line depthat the tackle position are the only positions we even need to look into and we're not starving at neither. Get the coach.

Can anyone name me a WR that ran a mid 4.5 and got drafted in the top 15? Oh, besides the great Mike Williams, that is.

Totally agree! I watched several Lions games and I could never understand why didnt Detroit just throw him the ball deep every play. He is similar to Randy Moss when you throw him the ball deep, very hard to cover.

Yeah, we would have to give up more draft picks that just one #1.

What did we give up for Roy11 again? a first and a third?
I think we would have to get up a bit more than that to move up to 3-5 if we didnt make the Roy11 trade.

i want crabtree for the simple fact he's from dallas so you know we would be getting someone who wants to be a cowboy but we would have to give up way too much for him seeing as how we dont have a 1st rounder..... at the LATEST he goes 15 he is by far the best receiver in this class only way a receiver goes before him is if he isnt selected before oakland's pick because al davis has a speed fetish and i can see him picking percy harvin.... maclin's good but he is not a complete receiver imo crabtree is bigger runs better routes and his hands are better and more consistent but for reasons other than being an OU guy i much rather have either than have rw11 because both are much more explosive

you can do the same thing with Roy Williams too, I never understood why Romo didn't just throw the ball up to him for grabs

He tried after he hurt his back. Didn't work out so well when he couldn't throw more than 40 yards.

I didn't mean exclusively 40-yard bombs

Roy WIlliams is literally a 1st down machine, have him run 10-yard routes, throw the ball to him, and 95% of the time he will use his big body to shield the defender, and come up with it

unfortunately, our offense doesn't call for 10-yard routes, where the WR tries to establish inside position
