Roy WIlliams is literally a 1st down machine, have him run 10-yard routes, throw the ball to him, and 95% of the time he will use his big body to shield the defender, and come up with it
unfortunately, our offense doesn't call for 10-yard routes, where the WR tries to establish inside position

For years Crayton was one of the most reliable 3rd down targets in the league. And somehow Garrett completely wiped that out.iRoot4Losers;2575039 said:or 1st downs
2 of the best 1st-down WRs in the game (Roy and Crayton), and we struggle accumulating them...unbelievable

irvin4evs;2574937 said:Crabtree is nowhere near the athlete you make him out to be and he won't do anything near what he has if he isn't in a west coast offense. His height/weight is comparable to Andre Johnson, but Johnson is MUCH more athletic.
Maclin is a fairly polished WR and will be a #1 before Crabtree IMO. He has good size and is far more athletic than Crabtree. Plus, he's a better fit for intermediate/deep passes than Crab.
edit: That list of teams he'd be #1 for is way off IMO. The guy is gonna go in the mid to late 1st round--where he should go.
irvin4evs;2574954 said:AJK - You seem to be on his payroll, so I'll just let the future sort this one out. Thanks anyway.
jterrell;2575530 said:1. You have no idea what you are talking about, just quoting Crabtree's freshman 40 times.
2. You rep Irvin in your name and that guy ran a 4.6 40 and who made the Hall of Fame at WR.
irvin4evs;2575814 said:LMAO if you guys really think Crabtree breaks 4.5. The guy has average speed for a WR. His appeal is his routes, hands, and spatial intelligence. There's nothing about his athleticism that is at all notable.
Irvin's 4.6 20 years ago is a lot different than Crabtree's 4.55 in 2009. Furthermore, Irvin's measurables are the reason he got drafted AFTER Sterling Sharpe and Tim Brown.
I don't see why you guys are getting so pissy over my suggestion that Crabtree won't go in top 10. ********.

no it's perfectly fine and healthy. but even though you think his abilities won't warrant a top 10 pick doesn't mean he won't be a top 10 pick.irvin4evs;2575833 said:I didn't call anyone a fool or claim someone has no idea what they're talking about. Are you suggesting I should not have the expectation that others be respectful or that I'm being disrespectful? Either way, you're missing something.
the point is that people are freaking out at me saying Crabtree won't go top 10. Is that against the rules here?

I've been there before so get used to it here. these people are crazy i tell ya!irvin4evs;2575845 said:But...I wasn't the one getting indignant about the exchange of opinion. I still don't see how I sparked outrage.
Whatever.
