Sabbatical Year

I don't think that figure is correct.
pretty close homie go check it out owed to DL about 27mil would have to pay him like 19mil in dead money that 8mil savings i mean paying a guy 19 mil to not be here is ridiculous yes not great contract but worse option to cut him now.

There are about 4x more Sean Payton threads on this board Than the saints board.

Especially since bonuses aren’t considered a part of salary at most jobs, including in the NFL

I think bonuses are up front but they are prorated over the amount of years of the contract. I could be mistaken.

Yeah but with that 8 million we can get somebody who wants to show up against good teams and in the first round of the playoffs.

Quinn coming back is definitely a torch under Mike’s seat. If we start slow enough— JJ may fire MM mid year and give Dan the reins lol
lots of ifs but not lame duck situation 2 years into 5 years deal sorry but pressure is always on just because DQ is an option does not make it more pressure, same pressure.

i would not be surprised if this year is a total cluster ****

Jerry needs to find a way to keep this D in order. This is a D, even without the turnovers that held the Chiefs to 19 points. I hope he doesn't just ignore the defense like he has done in the past. Or we will be a 6-8 win team. I like the way this D was flying around. Something I haven't seen in a very long time.

A 12-5 season is a train wreck? There's about 25 teams in the league that would trade their entire roster for the Cowboys' straight up.

The doom and gloom on this board is just dramatic nonsense.

Enjoy your sabbatical and whiskey sir!

No you’re right, I was just being pedantic about his specific choice of words. By the very definition they are not a salary

McCarthy is 6-9 in games when Dak Prescott is the QB since he has been here.

He was brought here to improve on Garrett.

If that's supposed to be a success we are all wasting our time.

If our defense is as good as it was this year, we'll probably win around 12 games again. But one and done with this offense.

The only thing the defense did real well this season is get takeaways. If it wasn’t for the takeaways the defense wasn’t that great. We ranked 19th in total defense and 14th in sacks. Our pass rush was never very consistent and we had issues against the run. We gave up more 25+ yard plays than just about any team in the league. The 49ers dominated our DL in the trenches. We didn’t sack Jimmy G once. We continue to struggle making critical third-down stops. We likely won’t get as many takeaways next season. With the number of players were likely to lose we’ll be lucky to win 9-10
games next season.

Don't see 12 wins
Will be playing a first place schedule
We will losing a ton of free agents.
10 and 7
Bounced in the first round.

If you can’t discern a qualitative difference between the level of football Dallas played in the playoffs vs teams like KC, LAR, Buff etc… don’t know what to say

This team— as it currently constructed— has a ceiling on what it can achieve. If you are content to compete for the NFCE and win “shiniest turd on the turd pile” contests— be my guest.

Enjoy your delusion and kool aid sir!

It was year 2 after a 10 year sabbatical where the team wasn’t very good. A coach should get more than 2 years to turn that around!

You're most likely right. I would bet on what you said. My point was that it was our defense that gave us the 12-5 record as opposed to 2019 and 2020. Same offense. But you're right. Most likely we won't have as much success on D.

Agree. Even if our D plays at the same level our offense needs to take a step forward. That's a big IF. If our D doesn't play at the same level, we're not even making the playoffs.

to bad a lot of people on this site. Just don't understand if you go back before one game was played i said the team will not make to the super bowl reason is not jerry jones even if he likes his goods being sold or the stadium filling up so he can fill his pockets there. Or the coach meatloaf even the buck stops with him on the field product, THE defense is whole subject unto it self, but the meat and potatoes is something jerry or we cannot take care for at least 3 more years its Dak you cannot fix his problem his mechanics are bad and they were this way before jerry signed him to a stupid deal. Kurt warner if you look his explaination on dak is spot on of course little kellen did him no favors did he. Dak is like a deer in the head lights on big games and above average dee's and thats all that has to be said on that subject. He's just what you call average he's good probadly in a back up role I'm not beating him down but FACTS OR FACTS

.

Really? An 80 year old Jerruh Jones is willing to just throw a season away and wait until he's 81 to figure it out? Ok. Got it.

total agreement.

too many fans overlook this fact.

Jerry doesn’t have time to wait.
