We need 2 starting DEs next year. ware with his constant neck/shoulder problems may be best suited as a nickel package player going forward. That way you keep him fresher and allow him to do what he does best.

Which is what? If you want him doing what he does best than don't play him in close games because he will disappear.

Agree. And here is my argument about Ware. At the end of every year it seems like people defend him...saying.."look at his sack numbers..." But his sacks often are in bunches. 2 this game, 3 that game, 2 the next game. Then, he will go many games where he is invisible. And dont give me double teams. Guys like Reggie White and Joe Greene were doubled every single game. How'd they do?

Only on CZ can getting sacks in bunches be considered a negative. SMH.

I guess haters have to hate, and repeat untruths.

You can't honestly tell me ware has had a positive impact on the defense this year.

I know he is banged up and was last year as well, but that doesn't give him an excuse to completely rush out of his lane and create gaping holes.

It's one thing if he is doing this and getting to the qb, but he is crashing towards the middle and getting stoned at the line every time he does it.

And let's be honest, he was TERRIBLE against the skins and the read option last year.

Which is funny because this is pretty much the case for almost every "sack artist" out there.

3/4 of our lineman would be bagging groceries if they weren't suiting up for the Dallas cowboys.

Its not a negative. But when he has (example) all of his sacks in 9 games, that means 7 games he didnt get to the QB. And if you cant understand that, then its on you, not me.

He never makes plays in crunch time.

He may get a sack early in a game when it's almost meaningless. But when the game is on the line, he is non existent.

You can say what you want about the other guys on the dline not helping, but it's not like ware is doubled every play.

WHen i watch guys like aldon smith or jj watt, if they are one on one they almost always make some kind of hurry on the qb. Ware hardly ever does.

And if your aunt had a sack she would be your uncle. Talk about taking an extreme example which has no basis in reality to make a point. Like ware, the best pass rushers in nfl history all had sacks in bunches. That is why they are great.

The stats will be corrected, that was a sack not a kneel down.

It was an obvious kneel down, Peyton only positioned the ball. There were 0 sacks in the game, and that's how it will stay.

they do? JJ Watt had sacks in 14 of his 18 games last year. Von Miller only went 4 games without a sack.
Ware, on the other hand had 11.5 sacks total. 9.5 of them came in 7 games. So in the other 9 games he accumulated 2 sacks. Not good enough if you;re a premier pass rusher.

Over fifteen million dollars per year for two pass rushers and zero sacks today.
It's becoming foolish to defend Ware from those of us who say he rarely makes plays late in games when it really counts....even going against second stringers. Ironically he's just like romo.

add in another 8m for ratliff please

How was a kneel down recorded as a TFL?

I should say "attempted" kneel down as Ware got to him before he actually knelt down. So it's a run for a loss. Sacks are only counted for plays that the team intends to pass. If there is a designed QB draw that goes for a loss, it is not counted as a sack, but a rush.
