I've never seen more excuses made for Ware than any other player to have worn a Cowboys uniform. He's made more bone headed plays when it counts than game changers. Specifically offsides. But people write that off as just trying to make a play. Yawn. Sure he fills up the stat sheet by year end with sacks but most of them you don't remember. He gets out of position against the run constantly. He's pretty much useless right now.

Sacks are sometimes kinda overrated. Yea you want them to put your team in a better situation but what if Ware had 3 sacks today on 3 Manning scoring TD drives? It wouldnt mean a thing. Get pressure and good things happen more times than not.

Plus Ware doesnt really make sacks when they matter anyways. I've seen Spencer make more sacks when it counted than Ware. Only one that sticks out is a couple years ago vs the Saints.

they do? JJ Watt had sacks in 14 of his 18 games last year. Von Miller only went 4 games without a sack.
Ware, on the other hand had 11.5 sacks total. 9.5 of them came in 7 games. So in the other 9 games he accumulated 2 sacks. Not good enough if you;re a premier pass rusher.

You're just cherry picking your data, but if we're going to play that game here goes...

Watt had 20.5 sacks total. 16 of them came in 7 games. So in the other 9 games, he accumulated 4.5 sacks. Draw your own conclusions on what kind of pass rusher that makes him.

Overall, Watt's numbers are better (because he had the better season), but I'm not seeing the pristine variance in his numbers. Ironically enough, when Ware put up 20 sacks in 2008, he only had 2 games where he was blanked in his sack total. And if the bar is going only 4 games without a sack, I might as well point out that Ware accomplished that in 2011. But even for a great pass rusher like Ware, it's pretty impossible to keep that going on a consistent basis, year after year, because it pretty much requires you to put up 16 sacks or more multiple times, which is incredibly hard to do. Yes, even for the premier pass rushers.

A bad play is a bad play... Just like romo is getting trashed, despite his "ribs".. Ironic that Ware isnt getting trashed because of his stinger. He's not playing well, and hasn't been.. spencer has an injury so he can't play... Yet, he isn't afforded that excuse besides being the best player bar none on the defense last year...

It's becoming foolish to defend Ware from those of us who say he rarely makes plays late in games when it really counts....even going against second stringers. Ironically he's just like romo.

a more telling stat is 0 QB hits. There was zero pressure on the QB today except for ONE play..and Selvie grabbed the facemask.

The 2ndary is left out to dry by the Dline. So much is said about the poor play of the 2ndary, but they get no help when a QB is allowed to stand and scan and scan and scan and scan either.

Spencer has not been average.. That's just utter nonsense.

I don't really want to make excuses here but I think it is fair to say that there were many, many instances of obvious holding calls that were just not called. Also, because of the scheme, Manning was able to get rid of the ball in most instances in less then 2 seconds. The RBs were there all day for him. It's simply unrealistic to expect us to sack Manning much. However, because he did check down so often, that does suggest that we were getting pressure and forcing the check downs. If I have a beef with the defense, it's more that we, again, didn't do a stellar job of tackling and stopping Denver from putting up YAC. That really hurt us all day and that's really more scheme then anything IMO.

WHEN are the refs going to keep a tackle honest against Ware. Good Lord, the non-calls are getting beyond frustrating. They're ridiculous. Freakin' ridiculous.

I rarely complain about the refs cause it's part of the game. Let 'em play is my schtick. But holy $#!$, this is unbelievable.
