I don't know that its the rose colored glasses or not but if it is true that RW played the season trying to cover up a shoulder injury (which he never publicly complained about), deal with the starting cb's being in and out of the lineup, LB's struggling with their assignments as well as learning to fit into a new system I think he did just fine.

Roy is not saying that the hits will come once he gets adjusted to the new system if his shoulder was hurting...

It's what he doesn't do - accept responsibility. How many times have you seen D. Woodson point the finger at teammates during blown coverage? I was the same way a few years ago (like RW), and once I realized that this was wrong and made the change, everything my life became so much better and easier. I bet that alot of us wouldn't have this mob mentality if Roy would admit that he isn't the best in coverage but he's honestly trying to get better.

To Roy's credit, he HAS admitted his shortcomings in coverage. He has also stated a desire to improve in that area. With that being said, he also had a host of excuses as to why he wasn't good in coverage and admitted that "sometimes you just hope they don't throw your way".

Unfortunately, Roy's shortcomings in coverage are no secret. Which almost guarantees "Roy, the ball is coming your way". Until he starts making teams pay for targeting him in coverage, they are going to continue to attack him. You attack a team's weakness. It's a game plan fundamental. Roy needs to stop looking at the situation as a victimized one and start looking at it as a play making opportunity. He's going to be targeted. Every play his way is an opportunity to make a play of his own. It's all a matter of perspective. Roy's seems to be bent to the victim/excuses side.

I'll never forget after that Washington loss, where Roy and Glenn were responsible for the 2 deep bombs at the end of the game, Rack and this other guy gets into about who's responsibility it was, and Rack was the first person to critisize Roy, and that was just blasphemy then.

But he opened the eyes of me and tons of fans, and now looking back, the guy was completely right.

Since Roy is on our team though, I hope that he has some pride, and come out swinging next season, we really need him to. Not just stats, but game changing plays.

My biggest problem with RW is that he has become the scarecrow - no heart. It really looks like he doesn't care and is just going through the motions. He is still the second best safety on the team behind Hamlin but we may be better off without him anyway.

That would be the Tin Man with no heart, the Scarecrow had no brain.

Dang kids.
