As a fan of neither team, I must say that I truly believe that OU is the best team in the Big 12 right now, that should be what matters most. You cant say Texas should go cause they won the heads up match, then leave Texas Tech out, that is just stupid. It comes down to who you believe is the better team and playing the best right now, and in my opinion that is OU.

That said I am cool with either team getting the nod, it is a toss up. And for the record I am a CU Alum who follows the Big 12 fairly closely.

Both sides are making good points.

Texas fans are saying they beat OU and thus should win the South, but apparently their loss to TT doesnt matter in this scenario. The head to head argument really loses all credibility when the loss to TT is totally ignored by Horn fans.

OU fans are saying they should win the South because of their body of work for the season. While this is true, OU did get beat by UT on a nuetral feild and nothing can change that. Normally this would place OU second to UT if not for the 3 way tie.

Solution..........PLAYOFF SYSTEM!!!

Until then, the rules of the big 12 state that a 3 way tie is to be settled by the BCS rankings and it looks like OU is going to be ranked #2 tommorow. It is what it is guys, doesnt matter if you like it or not. So under the current rules, you have to declare OU the South Division Champ.

I was driving yesterday morning, and some show had Mack Brown on complaining about the system.

Then last night, they had him piped in to the OU-OSU telecast.

His weak, whiny voice is about to send me over the edge.

His team didn't get the job done in Lubbock. Period.

He made it sound like Tech was lucky to be in the game at all and "scored on the last play."

First Downs:
Tech 31
Texas 18

Total yards:
Tech 579
Texas 374

His team was fortunate to be in the game at the end and even have a chance.

Brown's whole radio interview yesterday was sickening. He's such a politician.

I know there are a lot of Horn fans on here, many of whom I like. But your coach is a mealy-mouthed whiner.

This must be your 1st year to watch College Football.

We have to watch someone whine each and every year around this time.

You have to politic and make yourself look like a fool in this system.

Keeping your mouth shut and not feeding the media troll only hurts you.

Your fate rides with opinion and not a game so you have to stir the pot.

Or you can win all your games.

Some coaches are more grating on the nerves than others.

Mack Brown's voice sounds like Grannie Clampett with the flu.

If you look at it. OU's faced tougher teams. The 2nd best win for Texas is Oklahoma State in Austin. Oklahoma State is probably OU's 4th best win and it was in Stillwater and they won by 16 more points than Texas won by. Texas needed to play one good team out of conference. If they played Ohio State this year instead of a couple years ago they win this argument easily. Texas' only problem is they played a weak out of conference schedule and OU's games against Cincinnati and TCU will end up paying off.

But when you don't you have to rely on a system that deals in Biased opinion, style points, and debate.

Mack would be a fool to not get his Clampett on and make a case for his team.

Especially the way things went down when his team went into lubbock, beat up, and lost on the last play of the game in a Hornets nest.

Boise St., Utah and Bama then. I got no beef with that if that's what the rankings want to do but what does that have to do with who wins the Big12 South? Yeah, everybody should have won out but nobody did. Mack Brown is not wrong Chief. Texas beat OU and that's the way it is. Texas lost to Tech but nobody in the Big12 went unbeaten. The argument is that Tech beat Texas and that's true but Tech is not in it apparently. If it's between OU and Texas, then Texas has proven they are the better team on the field. That can't be disputed.

Unfortunately, as we have learned, sometimes that just isn't good enough either.

Nobody whines or preaches about there team and the BCS more then Stoops does. That's just a fact. I saw him only this morning doing that. It's not unique to Mack Brown or Texas. Very much the opposite in fact.

You certainly wont see him calling in when a live football game is going on just to harp on his chances.

Unlike some unmentionable coach lastnight.

Say im wrong. :p:

Nobody is being holier than thou bro. The OU fans are basically saying that this is the system everyone agreed to to start the season.

Im sick of the crying by all the horn fans who understood all oh that before tuning in to the 1st game of the season.

The system sucks. We know it and you know it. It is what it is.

I'm talking about Texas.

If they wanted to win the Big 12 South outright, then win all your games. They didn't get it done. I hate the whining, especially from the old lady.

I certainly see both sides of the OU-Texas debate. Texas won on the field ... several weeks ago.

Mike Leach was asked who was better and he said OU without a doubt. Obviously, because OU demolished Tech and Tech beat Texas, but he has seen them both up close in recent weeks.

I think a lot of the voters are seeing the same thing.

I'm sure Texas doesn't think it's fair. :violin:

They should have beaten Texas Tech.
