I'm talking about Texas.

If they wanted to win the Big 12 South outright, then win all your games. They didn't get it done. I hate the whining, especially from the old lady.

I certainly see both sides of the OU-Texas debate. Texas won on the field ... several weeks ago.

Mike Leach was asked who was better and he said OU without a doubt. Obviously, because OU demolished Tech and Tech beat Texas, but he has seen them both up close in recent weeks.

I think a lot of the voters are seeing the same thing.

I'm sure Texas doesn't think it's fair. :violin:

They should have beaten Texas Tech.

I bet you just made about 5 ignore lists w/ your little fiddle emoticon.

Texas could win this if they get enough Harris Poll voters. If they have a big enough lead in the Harris then OU's going to buy a bunch of Black and Yellow for the Big 12 Title game and hope for a Texas lost.

And you expect Leach, a former staff member of OU to say Texas is better? I don't put much stock into what Leach says. I do know this. If Tech is not in the picture, and I'm not saying that's fair, but if that's the decision then it should be on head to head and it's clearly not. If the head to head doesn't matter, then why play the games?

Depends on when the game is. If Ohio State and USC played today I bet Ohio State gives them a game. USC is about the same as they were, Ohio State is alot better. The only problem with OU/Texas is that it's played early in the year when both teams are still trying to figure each other out. If the game was played on Thanksgiving it would be the ultimate rivalry game. It would be the OU/Nebraska game of the 70s that basically decided the NC.

I think he said it because he beat Texas and because OU kicked his rear end.

He would have had to. He certainly couldn't have said it because Texas beat OU straight up.

On a neutral field. Don't forget the neutral field. That was a big part of your argument lastnight.

Neutral field.

Remember that part. VERY important in your reasoning young patawan.

Oh and by double digits. I love that buzz word double-digits.

And OU put the smackdown on the one team that handed you your only loss.

That's a good point but you can't tell me that a good team gives up 41 defensively and they are a better team then a team like Texas who is substantially better defensively. It's like the defense doesn't count. It's maddening to me. Just doesn't make much sense.

If Tech is not in the equation, then it doesn't really matter. OU lost to Texas pretty convincingly. That is not going to change.

So then, it doesn't count? It's a season, it's not only the last few games. If it were, then the season should only be a month long and count only the last three or four games. Doesn't make much sense once you really think about that Chief.

Do you not see the circle you keep arguing in? Doesn't that get old?

Nevermind. I keep forgetting the flyers and airplane. Carry on.

Why is Tech not in the equation? They have the same record as OU and Texas, point differential is irrelevant (because college conferences do not want to encourage running up the score), the timing of the game is irrelevant, and all 3 teams are 1-1 head to head. So using the rules the Big-XII members all decided on, by what logical basis have we kicked Tech out of the equation?

And the defense that layed the smack down on the team that beat you? Let's just forget all about that one huh? How convienient that is.

What happened in Lubbock? What happened in Lubbock?

Your team got crushed by TT, thats what happened. Please don't act like Texas has some all world defense.

Please!!!

If Texas is scoring as fast as OU in the game in Austin OSU scores 41 easy. They nearly got 31 when Texas had long sustaining drives. And that game was again in Austin. Oklahoma State's offense is a great one. If OU had an offense like they had last year which consumes time or one like Texas the score of that game last night is more like 31-21. OU gives up points some but they also score faster than anyone and put the other teams offenses on the field more.

The Texas game OU just quit running the ball that's why they lost. Not saying Texas didn't deserve it, but OU killed themselves by being too one dimensional. Last night they could have done the same thing but instead they kept to the run game and won the game going away.

I think they should be but that's not my decision. That decision was made by the BCS. Lets not say that because Tech is no longer in the running, that's somehow the fault of Texas. I'm just saying that if it has been decided that Tech is no longer considered for the Big12 Championship game, then it should be head to head, Texas vs OU.

I'm just saying that there are a lot of people that believe that, right now, OU is better than Texas.

Right or not, that's what many believe.

I know Mack Brown likes to harp on the fact that Tech won it on the last play, but the stats show that Tech handled them pretty well for most of that game. Then, people see what OU did to Tech, and a lot of people start leaning that way.
