I understand this, but resigning our own Dak, Zeke, Tank, Coop, maybe even Lee,, they have to do those contracts, and that's cool that we have the cap to resign "our"
own, that's all I am saying.

That's exactly what Ive been talking about, thank you for laying out the projectictions, which seem about right/fair... have enough bank left over that we can shop a little in FA...
Not players again, but prudent old ladys looking for the best deal of the day at the grocery store... day old dollar bread,, leave those ET cinnamon rolls on the shelf.

If that is so, he needs to get back into shape and play as best he can.

If he's not "all that," his salary won't escalate anyway.

Come what may, he'll help Dak's game.

And don't forget the CBA expires after 2020

We don't know if there will be a stoppage or what the new rules will look like

Owners will be reluctant to extend too many players past 2020 with guaranteed money

He is talking about leaving 5m for the season and 1m for the Draft.... he isn't counting the 3.5m for SLee yet either

We have right around 25.6m of USEABLE CAP SPACE

"Dallas has around $24 million of space.

Fans should remember, this is plenty of space to get things done. The team will want to take around $5 million of cap space into the season, so that reduces their usable room down to $19 million.

Without a first-round pick this year, Dallas will need under $1 million to use on their 2019 draft class. That leaves Dallas with around $18 million of 2019 cap space to play around with."

The funny thing about cap space, when you use it, it's gone, and it goes away fairly quickly.

That's true. Conversely, the cap hit exceeds the salary paid in later years so that's why teams get in cap he'll farther on down the road.

Signing "our" own strategy sounds good if they give a home town discount, but don't over look the RB and LB market, Zeke will ask for Levon Bell type money and stud LBs Jaylon Smith and Vander- Esch (rookie) will get a sweet pay day down the road.

Rapoport reports CJ Mosely deal is worth $85 million with $51 million in guaranteed money. That’s bigger than the four-year, $54 million deal that Kwon Alexander agreed to with the 49ers and would set a new standard for inside linebackers.

As expected, the Jets have been busy in free agency since the legal tampering window opened on Monday. Mosley is joined at linebacker by Anthony Barr and the team has also reached agreements with wide receivers Jamison Crowder and Josh Bellamy.

I wish I was an artist...someone needs to draw a cap monster in its natural habitat of “cap hell”...this board is absolutely terrified of it, might as well make up a mascot to the ridiculousness of it all.
Or if someone can maybe just photoshop Gritty from the Flyers in a scary looking place.

But in reality our cap monster in “cap hell” is just Jerry sitting on his super yatch with some cheap strippers....
