Last time I checked, Westbrook was a helluva receiver. Felix has a ways to go in that department.

Jimmy Johnson was playing mind games ..... and we were the defending Superbowl champs.

The last time we faced the Eagles ..... we got humiliated.

There is no point ...... I mean no point ..... in giving Philly's defense (who just lost their mentor) a reason to get up even more for playing Felix Jones.

Jimmy was using his comments as intimidation ...... no one is intimidated by our 3rd or 4th string WR ..... but they can be pissed off.

That's a bunch of crap...their defense will up no matter what Hurd or any other Cowboy says.

I expect nothing less out of Philly and our team should not expect anything less than getting Philly's best when ever we face them.

I agree in that it's not quite the level of Crayton's work.

of course, we shouldn't really be talking about the Eagles at all until we stop being their prison ********

On the one hand, I like that Hurd has that much confidence in Felix. On the other hand, its way too early to say much about Felix outside of 'potential', much less to say he is 10 times better than arguably one of the best and consistent football player in the league in the last few years.

I don't understand why this is an issue, a part from the fact that Felix probably doesn't like hyperbole being added to his high expectations, Hurd didn't disrespect Westbrook, infact he used him as a barometer of talent.

The Eagles are really hurting for material if tis is what it takes to inspire them, by October this quote will be forgotten as training camp chatter.

With Jim Johnson's passing, Brian Dawkins defection and the injuries to their LB corp it is most doubtful the tremendously stout D of the past decade is still going to be Philadelphia's moniker next season.

They have McNabb, Westbrook, and a wideout corp similar to Dallas' in terms of question marks mixed with potential; they'll live and die by their offense in 2009.

At best it's only mitigating that he just said a 2nd year backup RB with only 30 rush attempts to his name is 10X better than an all-pro player.

:hammer:

If Felix Jones is indeed better than Brian Westbrook, then his play on the field will eventually prove it.

And there is absolutely no way, Brian Westbrook views Sam Hurd's comments as a compliment.

Very stupid ...... I wish they could fine these morons who give board material.

I'd rather have players giving teams board material then players who are afraid to.
We had the right attitude in the 90s when it didn't matter to the players how much motivation the other team had or how hard they played, they where going to beat you no matter what and had no problems telling you that.

Teams get up to play the Cowboys no matter what, anything our players say is easily dwarfed by the stars on their helmets on gameday.

Westbrook has been doing it for several years now... Let's wait to say Felix Jones is better. Although I like Jones size over Westbrook.

If felix Jones stays healthy and gets more touches he will be top 3 Rb in the NFL. No doubt about it, He is my favorite Cowboys right now.

I live in Philly and Westbrook took the same approach as Felix. At first the coaches didnt play him too often but eventually they had no choice but to play him. He was behind guys like Duce Staley, Buckholter and Dorsey Levens before given the clear number one spot.

It errks me that these coaches didnt even give him the ball last year. Who cares whose in front of you, the best player plays. He needs 20 touches a game minmum.

Hurd, maybe should calm down a bit. I am excited about Felix, but to say 10x better is bulletin board material. Has he been hanging w/ Crayton or something?

Has anyone ever seen the mythical bulletin board?

Who cares what Westbrook thinks who cares what Philly thinks. There over there and Dallas is over here. If they get mad they get mad. I'm glad hurd said what he said. Shows his support and trust in his teammate. Hopefully this team takes the approach of us against them.

Of course Hurd knows that Felix, or anyone else for that matter, isn't 10x better than anyone else in the league.

But Hurd isn't some high-school kid seeing an NFL player for the first time. This is what, his 4th NFL training camp? He has been either on the field or on the sideline, suited up, to watch the best the NFL has to offer.

His mentor, TO, is an acknowledged physical freak and likely HOF'er.

What Hurd is saying, is that Felix Jones looks like a very, very, special player.

IMO, as long as Felix's injuries last season were fluke'ish, he will be a markedly better player than Westbrook.

And, yes, that's saying a lot because Westbrook is a great player.
