He will be back next season no matter what.
If he misses this season there’s no assurances he makes the team next season. It will be pretty tough coming back from a serious injury. He’s shown flashes, but he hasn’t been consistent and makes a lot of mistakes. Plus, he’s had off the field issues.

Overshown is out there from his injury in last years TC. No reason Sam could not be back as well.

And what off the field issues. That was some long time ago.

If he does have to come back from a serious injury that's just more uncertainty. He already had to overcome the multiple brain farts he's had; this just means he has two things to overcome at once...

Gee, and he doesn't really look like Sean Lee, must have been taking lessons from Lee.

Parsons will be playing too many snaps again and then fans will blame him when his play dips late in the season.

See you in 2025 Sam!
No, get rid of him now, if the man can't run around the field in shorts, he'll never survive an entire season, we've tried that with Lee, LVE and Gallup. (If it's an ACL tear). And what happened with them?

Time to move on, do an injury settlement and promote a rookie....

Overshown showed great potential as a rookie during camp before he was injured. They’re not about to give up on him heading into year two when we haven’t even seen him play in a regular season game. Plus, he’s had no off the field issues. This will be Sam Williams third season, which is a critical season for him. He’ll make a play here or there but disappear for games at a time. He’s been somewhat of a disappointment. He’s made a lot of mistakes/penalties and has had an off the field issue. I’m not saying he won’t participate in training camp next year if he misses this season, but no guarantees he makes the team.

For other teams, yes. For our Cowboys, it's just the way it is. And I forgot our hot shot safety, I forget his name, every year he was kept on the team, only to miss the season with hamstring problems. 3 years we waited on him, only to see him retire, never having played a regular season game.

But that's fine, I can certainly see your reasoning, I have been wrong before. That's just my view.

But mark my words, we'll see, sooner or later....

A little over reaction on your part.

Is it? So I guess you approved of signing Gallup to a huge deal after he tore his ACL? And how'd that turn out? Oh yeah, he came back and has been All Pro every year since, right?

Look, there's only three things that can happen - Williams is never the same again, he's as good as before, or he's better. Picking one of the three isn't overreacting, it's an opinion, you don't like it, you're welcome to disagree, and I'll respect that....
