There were plenty of fans trying to make comparisons. Don’t know how you missed them. Go search the posts from this summer. This is just one of the threads.

"Compare" is dependent on the context.
The context of those posts was not that he will definitely be like Parsons, just that physically he has similarities and therefore
might be a really good pick.
Cautiously optimistic is how I would describe the tone of that thread.
I don't think anybody expects any draft pick to actually be on the level of Micah Parsons. Parsons is already one of the best players that I've seen on a football field...ever. Expecting any pick to be that good even if #1 overall would be absurd.
Having said that, Sam Williams viewed without any reference to Parsons, is a true freak athlete. I cannot remember any 4.4 forty type players that had his type of power to repeatedly bull-rush NFL OTs.
I watched all of his snaps from the preseason and the limited snaps he had played in the regular season. Some of his plays have shown absurd physical ability. He repeatedly bull-rush OT Charles Cross like Vita Vea vs Connor Williams last year.
There was a run outside the LT in the preseason where he tossed a TE then tossed a FB to the ground without slowing down and got out near the sideline to tackle the ball carrier. I can't remember that type of play from any Cowboys DE and definitely not any on the current roster. Then in a recent game there was the play where he tossed the TE like a bowling ball into the ball carrier. I have seen that by DLinemen a few times but not any that ran a 4.4 forty or anything close to it.
Even on the play where he got the big penalty for hitting the QB as he was (according to the refs) out of bounds, SW had come from the far side of the field and ran down Giants QB Daniel Jones. SW covered about 10 more yards than Jones to get to that spot.
I'll be shocked if SW is not a better player than DLaw by sometime in the 2023 season.
