At noon today the local show had Brian Broaddus on, he said something that seems a bit odd regarding Cowboy practices, stating that Romo gets 3-4 snaps with the 1st team offense against 1st team defense out of every 8 snaps. Why? Is Broaddus creditable?

Yes. very credible.
This is for the defense foremost and Tony secondarily.
win-win

Who knows how long it went on, but that is an interesting tidbit. Probably something they wanted to make sure got out prior to the game, too.

Interesting indeed. If Dak struggles can we point this for not getting all the 1st teams reps? I don't think it's that big of a deal, but someone will.

so Romo stays a sharp. never know when he may be called on.

We should have played Romo a quarter against Philly. One series wasn't enough to prepare him if he has to play on Sunday. He hasn't taken a hit since he broke his back.

I'm glad they are at least doing their due diligence in keeping options open and Romo sharpened in case we do need to go to him.

Two other points when Chancellor ask was it in preparation for Green Bay, he responded that it has been going since Romo returned. He also says Romo competitively tries to beat the defense every snap, calls out coverages and such.

I would say it is to keep Romo sharp and in sync with the first team guys. I think they plan to make the switch to Romo if Dak is struggling and they are losing with time running out. As much as I'm on the Dak bandwagon and have been since the preseason, I see no need in going down in the playoffs with a struggling rookie when you have Romo healthy. Now, I don't think Dak is going to struggle but it certainly is a possibility. If they are down by 2 scores late in the 3rd quarter/early 4th quarter, I think we will see Romo.

In all probability, this is simply to give the first team defense some snaps against Romo, who plays a game similar to Rodgers.

This is odd.

I think it's hard to draw a hard conclusion either way. But regardless, at face value it gives merit to both Romo coming in if Dak struggles, and if gives merit to simply helping the defense out during practice if they want Romo to make the checks that Rodgers would for the defense to fully prepare. My question regarding that would be, is why wouldn't Romo do that on the scout team.

It's odd. I dont know what will come of it. But it's odd.

They claim this has been the pattern for the last 1 1/2 months

If it's been standard since Romo has been healthy, then it's nothing.

But then it falls back on Broddus for framing it as "odd" in his reporting, and taking the situation out of context. Ugh wth

*Edit* Nvm that wasn't Broaddus reporting, it was just a member saying it was odd. My bad.

I really dont want my Qb sharing half the snaps with the backup QB,unless they are going to use both this doesn't make sense.
