People saying Mavs > Spurs is like saying Cardinals > Cowboys in the NFL.

There is no comparison in Legacies.

:laugh2:

I think he was talking about this season in general...not about the team's "legacies". That being said, both teams are playing equally well thus far.

In defense of the mavs, they have been playing statistically tougher teams than the spurs. the overall record of teams that have played the spurs are 156-168, the mavs 169-158. it isnt anything to significant, but later on this december and early january will show if the spurs are actually worthy of being true contenders. until then, go mavericks!

A couple of things:

This team has rarely been healthy the past two or three years, and they're healthy now.

Also, Richard Jefferson is playing much, much better this year. He has found his place on this team, found his role.

Even with the Big Three, the Spurs have always depended greatly on role players, and there was a transition the past couple of years. Guys like Bowen and Fabrecio had to be replaced. It has taken the new guys a year or two to fit in.

They're healthy and their chemistry has improved since guys like Jefferson and Hill have settled into roles. The addition of Splitter is nice, too.
It's still very early. Up until last year, Manu being injured(WCF vs. Lakers in '08) and not playing at all ('09) has killed us. He's off to the best start of his career and him not playing for Argentina this off season seems to be the biggest reason why.

I'm a season ticket holder and have been very pleased with the Spurs start. Its helped take some of the sting off the Cowboys season. The Spurs have a lot of home games in December so they have the opportunity for a lot more wins before the Rodeo road trip.

With the Cowboys losing so much this year, there is a lot of discussion on this board about what the Cowboys need. Personally, I think they need their own version of Manu. He is such a clutch player who can take over a game at any time. He often seems to will the team to win. I don't think we would ever be 3-8 if we had that type of player.

thats a 13 game difference over the course of 20 plus games per team so far, it hardly makes a difference. the mavs have been playing good lately and so have the spurs, its still to early to tell which team is better. I for one hope to god that the mavs/lakers are in the other bracket come playoff time so we would only have to play one of them to win the conference

Great to see the Spurs off to such a great start.

I've got floor seats to see them here in Washington when they play the Wiz in February... should be a blast!

ya, im hoping we go at least 8-1 in the rodeo road trip, there are only 3 teams that they should be losing to (portland, LAL, and the bulls) other than that they should win the rest! we need to keep winning to stay ahead of the celtics, just in case

Caught the third and fourth quarters while checking out the frozen stuff falling from the sky.

Never, ever, never, give the Spurs three shots at making a basket. Odom so screwed up with watching the shot and didn't box out McDyess. Oooops. :D

It was 4 shots.

And they were all their money shots. Ginboli 3, Parker floater, Duncan on the block, and McDyess underneath.

I gotta say, no BS, the Lakers need to make a move to compete w/ the Spurs, Heat, and Celtics. They dont have any assets so they are going to have to throw $3M at some team in a trade to get anything worthwile back

McDyess was huge there at the end, keeping the play alive after the Ginobili and Parker misses just before the 0.2 tip in.

Also, at the end of the half, this was a great play to keep the ball alive for Neal:
