49ers, eagles, and eagles are the games which will tell us if we are ready for a SB.
The NFC East is the strongest division in the NFL. Neither the Eagles or Cowboys are getting an opening round playoff bye. But I’d bet dollars against donuts either Dallas or Philadelphia is in the Super Bowl this season.

Understood. But, the Cowboys posted a most convincing win, on the road, against a playoff team from last year. I’m sure Daboll has suggested to his team that now that they’re done patting themselves on the back for winning a playoff game last season it’s time to deal with this season. SF looks extraordinary, even Philly’s bizarre coach has figured out Hurts needs to stop running all over hell’s creation, Detroit, who Philly does not have to play, is actually starting to believe, Carr is playing for the Saints and his brother. No way any QB wants a Super Bowl more than he does. Right now, however, the Niners and Purdy notwithstanding, the Cowboys delivered. 17-0 is ridiculous, but it’s even more ridiculous for 15 other teams.
The Cowboys posted a convincing win on opening day and they’re still 16 games left. They put 45 points on the Giants on opening day in 2007 and the Giants ended up winning the Super Bowl. I’m just saying we got a long way to go and everyone needs to stop patting the Cowboys on the back after one win because that’s when they get in trouble. The team starts becoming full of themselves and it usually leads to a big let down against a lesser opponent and by the end of the season, they’re not as good as they were earlier in the season. They end up entering the playoffs not playing the best football and this is why they keep coming up short. Take San Francisco for example the past couple of years they haven’t got off to a great starts, but they kept improving as the season went on and by playoff time they’re playing their absolute best football. This is why they keep reaching championship games.

I'm not wishing on a hope after one game. too many years of watching football to do that. I know when a team is ready and if they are they will win at least 2 of those 3 games against top contenders. They will prove themselves just like all great football teams do when they finally achieve greatness.

What strikes me is why so many fans go all into "we will win" after one good performance, when plenty of teams have failed after that. We have a whole season. If Dallas is ready, it will show, not only by how many games they win, but who they win against.

I am optimistic, but want to see the 49ers game first.

I won’t put the Cowboys above the Niners until they beat them. They have my respect. The Eagles on the other hand, I think are overhyped. I predict we sweep them this year.

The Lions beat the Chiefs. So does that mean I can put the Lions above the Chiefs as the better team? I'm just curious....

While the Cowboys looked pretty good yesterday, at least on Defense, the Offense is still TBD due to not having to do too much, I'm still holding any reservations about expectations due to watching the 49ers dismantle the Steelers. They still demonstrate the physicality that has caused major problems for the Cowboys. They are the most balanced and physical team in the Conference if not the NFL. We didn't get to see much of the Cowboys Offense last night to get a good read on their status. We should get a better read in the coming weeks leading up to the Week 5 matchup at the 49ers.
It's only week one .. let's see how and if the Niners sustain that level and consistency as they face tougher opponents
and have to deal with the grind of the NFL season.

- That Steelers offense is mediocre and in time they may learn that their 1st rd pick QB maybe more backup than
starter stud material. Having a struggling offense puts more stress and load upon your defense.

- First half of playoffs vs Niners, we actually held those physical Niners offense in check.
But if you have a struggling offense that keeps the defense on the field constantly, they are going to
eventually be some leaks & cracks in that water dam before it eventually bursts open.

- I'd like to think Hankins, Clark, LVE, Dlaw, Parsons, Osa front will handle and sustain our run defense, that
will eventually allow our rushers to pin ears and go after the passer.
Remember Brock Purdy was actually off his game in 1st half, and all of Shanhan's misdirection and Deebo plays
were not working vs our defense.

And we will face those obstacle Niners again in both the regular season, as well as yes .. the playoffs !

Philly is an interesting situation. The conditions yesterday were poor which could have led to some offensive issues for them. Their OL was bad yesterday which was surprising given that they, on paper, have the best OL in football. Defensively, their DL is good. Both Davis and Carter played well. But LBs and Ss are big questions. Pats feasted on the underneath stuff against their LBs. Also, they lost Dean to a leg injury so who knows how long he'll be out.

I think the issue with them the next few weeks surrounds the coordinators. Both are new. Both did not have good games yesterday. The good news for them is they face the Vikes thursday at home. Vikes D is atrocious. Eagles should be able to score on them.

And honestly, Sirianni seems like a tocking time bomb with me in terms of a decision maker. That call to go for it on 4th down just over midfield yesterday was mindnumbingly stupid. If that dude gets two feet down there inside the 10, I think the Pats would have won.
I'm keeping my eyes on their OC and DC as well. They'll keep the previous designs from the previous coordinators
but how will they adjust on the move ? ... during in- game situations ?

The Pats WRs may be among the bottom of the NFL.
Just like the Giants WR, they really do not present much of a challenge to a good defense.

Philly quickly signed vet FA linebacker Rashad Evans to replace Dean, a move that I thought we couldv'e (should've?)
been considering too, so we'll see how that replacement manuever works out.

Also I'd like to see Philly's offense in normal weather conditions vs a top opponent. Just like us, those kind of
monsoon like rainy conditions can restrict and limit what you'd like to do.

Fine with me. I’ll happily sit at 23rd as long as we are winning.

Do y’all mean to tell me that after one game Dallas hasn’t wrapped up home field advantage for the playoffs???

Hell, time to strip the roster down for a rebuild.

right now I think SF has the most balanced team in the NFC, Offense and Defense.

PHI looked OK but not great versus NE, but NE is inconsistent. One week they look solid, next week poop.

DAL D was good, but Offense did struggle: 6/13 on 3rd down won't cut it. At least penalties were mostly kept in check

ALSO REMINDER: Ronald Jones returns after Week 2. Does he replace Dowdle?

I’m going to enjoy the win…because all this talk of who the best is of the 3 is quite irrelevant after only 1 game…we all no winning a super bowl you need your fair share of luck…a couple injuries here or there changes things...
Some of you bandwagon fans can’t enjoy the win without bringing your negativity…

Everyone here knows we’re going to have challenging games ahead, but some fans are already booking their Super Bowl tickets. That’s going overboard! Someone posted we’re going 17-0. Maybe they were joking and maybe they were being serious. They sounded pretty serious to me.
So WHat if some are booking Tickets. Mind ya business !!!!!!!! Going overboard ? Why because YOU and some perceived smartaazzes say so??? Let them enjoy themselves. Damn if you can't go overboard

about the Cowboys on a Cowboys message board ***

I’ll post my opinions whether you like them or not. Maybe you should mind your own business and stop playing with letters to bypass the censors.

I have no problem with the Cowboys ranking 3rd in the NFC behind both the Eagles and 49ers, until the Cowboys prove they can beat either or both teams.

Getting four QBs injured is a downer for an offense.

Brady with his 5.28 forty cuts out misguided attempts at running.

As Darrel Royal said in an alternate universe, there are three thangs (sp, I did sound that out) that can happen if you run and two of them are bad.

The 49ers and Eagles should be higher than the Cowboys. We have two games to prove the Eagles vs Cowboys debate wrong and we have 1 game for the 49ers. Beat them and you can remove doubt.

If I had to bet on a team, it would be SF. Eagles lost a lot from last year and Jalen Hurts is fools gold.
