It's funny because they always lose
Teams in the last 7 years with 6+ playoff appearances, 6+ playoff wins, multiple SB appearances, and a ring

KC
Philadelphia

End of list.

Paying 15 mil for Saquon is stupid
I agree, that’s why we only paid him 12m a year. It’s 15 if he proves to be worth 15. Then if he does it wasn’t stupid

with what money? the cowboys haven't even made any more adjustments to free up salary space, they are in pathetic mode
We've already reworked Martin and can rework a few other contracts and have lost like 5 players to free agency. We have enough cap space to sign Henry for 8 million. If he wants 12 forget it.

I didn't think RB was a big need for Dallas anyway, I mean we still have Deuce Vaugn right?

LOL.

So let's rely on a rookie and our slop already on the roster to fix the running game?
Doncha know? We're fixing all the holes in the 2024 draft. 7 new all-pro starters on Day 1. Go Cowboys!

In fairness, $12MM for a TB especially one with Barkley's injury history, is a pretty big risk.
There is definite risk specifically with Barkley. Howie specifically targeted him over Jacobs or Henry for a reason we’ll find out in a bit… But 12m$ today was 8m$ a few years ago when Zeke was signed for 16m$. The cap jumps have been enormous since then.

I agree getting away with paying less at RB is a strong strategy, but this is better than paying Swift/Pollard 8m$ (or starting Gainwell).

Key point here is this is Kellen Moore’s choice at RB. And Saquon is a major threat in the passing game.

It’s a contract the cowboys would never ever do and likely shouldn’t but it likely is restructured or he’s released in 2 years. No issues cowboys not doing this but again Philly is being aggressive and as much as I hate them they are a very well run organization and have had more success than us in the last 2 decades or so.

Hopefully the cowboys have a plan intact with the draft or trades to keep up with the arms race that is the nfl
