Saturday Divisional Round Games

That is kind of the point of being called 'elite'. Showing up against really good teams. Beating the Colts or Browns doesn't crown you that. This is when those talks heated up. Especially last weel. He had a very good rookie season. But there's a big difference in good and elite.
Then the NFL has 0 elite players because 0 players can overcome a massive talent gap like what was on display. You could have put Mahomes back there and it would have looked exactly the same. So either there are 0 elite QBs in the NFL or your definition is wrong.

He can't make a lateral move (e.g. DC to DC move). He would have to be leaving for a HC position or some hybrid that is a promotion.
He could be the hybrid for the Cowboys, no? We need to plan for the future anyway at HC...I can't imagine Jerry will be extending Mike McCarthy next season. McCarthy's basically a lame duck.

Absolutely. QBs don’t overcome teams in playoff games. It just doesn’t happen that way.

That’s an impossible standard

So a team can be successful without All Pro's all over the offense?

Run the ball, pass protect and not an All Pro in site.

Maybe Lamar really is the MVP.
When you can run the ball well and can stop others from running the ball, you have a really good recipe for playoff success.

The Ravens offense will always be a challenge as long as Lamar can run the ball like a RB, but he's one run away from having a season-ending injury. But the Ravens are smart to ride him as long as they can.

The Ravens defense is predicated on NO RUNNING on 1st down. They commit 10 in the box on most 1st downs. Before the snap on 1st down, you often see ALL 11 defensive players within the TV frame. That's a full commitment to stopping the run on early downs. And they're good at deception on passing downs, so it's hard to get a read on their defense. That's called winning the chess match.

Quinn has very little of this skill set. With a small safety playing MLB, on many first downs, the Cowboys still have their safeties playing 12+ yards off the ball. And they don't even cheat up at the snap...only making a move to the LOS once the ball is handed off. There's not even a crowd at the LOS on most 1st downs, as if they front 7 is stout by themselves.

Mike McDonald, Ravens DC, we should seriously try to lure him to the Cowboys. You need that kind of a mindset to have a solid defense. Can't rely on punch-outs, picks, and sacks to be successful.

When you're great on both sides of the ball, the offense scores and the defense limits scores.
Enter: the 2024 Baltimore Ravens

True words. Some people act like the QB is the only player on the field so everything depends solely on him. He doesn't need an OL, a defense, nothing. The only player that counts is the QB. LOL
Stroud is a rookie, with a team that couldn't compete with the Ravens. He had no running game whatsoever and his OL wasn't even close to the strength of the Ravens defense. He was running for his life all night.

So funny seeing the usual suspects trying to tear down a rookie and the likely true MVP to try and feel better.

I expect this Green Bay/SF game to go the way of the Ravens/Texans game. Both GB and Houston looked unstoppable on offense last week, playing against very weak defenses. Both of those teams are now facing top level teams in their respective conferences. Much different. Both Houston and Green Bay had all day to pass and wide open guys all over for easy completions and big gains. Not going to be that way this week. A reason Baltimore was favored by 9-10.

Why would he leave the Ravens to go be a part of the circus in Dallas where they run their mouth before the game instead of kicking az during the game. Ravens are tough and physical. Our defense is soft and a fitness defense. Which is wild when Dan Quinn was in Seattle those guys was tough. Is it the players? Or was the defense really Pete Carrols? I remember the Seahawks have a 4-3 DE that was over 310lbs.

Expect Forty-niners to get after Love the same way Ravens just did on Stroud.
24-10...or 34-14 victory by the home team
Yep just said that. I expect this game to be the same as the Ravens/Texans. It's all fun and games when playing soft teams like Dallas and Cleveland. Now they are going up a weight class and will get smacked in the face and won't have an answer. SF should abuse GB's defense and they will be pressuring Love all game.

REMINDER FOR THE GB-SF GAME

THIS IS NOT A DALLAS OR DAK THREAD

POSTS WILL BE DELETED AND THREAD BANNED

Only reason I am going for GB is that if Detroit wins, they host the NFCCG instead of going to SF.
Where they have a better chance to win.

And right now the lesser of the two evils.
If AR was still with GB, I would root for SF.
