umm... maybe because Washington would be playing against Matt Hasselbeck and not Tavaris Jackson..? Who knows?

So it is a certainty ?

Just curious really. I dont even want to say the Commanders WILL win next week. But I certainly don't fear the Seahawks.

Not a certainty, but I believe that some believe that a fairly balanced team like Seattle will be more than Washington to handle. They shouldn't be feared, but they should be respected for being the better team to match up with.

Trust me, Im no Commanders fan. I live in DC but hate the skins. house is decorated in Boys gear.
Given the OP of the thread, I find this very hard to believe. No offense is meant. I just have never heard a Cowboys fan with so much fear of the Commanders. Especially a fan who lives in that area and sees the hypocrisy.

I don't think anything in the NFL can be for certain. I just don't think Seattle has been in the habit of losing home playoff games and that is what it would be. You are on a nice run, and I for one, thought you would be done going to Chicago. I would say however, that other than Eli who the jury is still out on as well, the QB's that you have played during this win streak are below average NFL QB's. Wouldn't you agree on that? Could you win in Seattle, I guess, but not very probable.

these playoffs scare me. before I start, let me say that i have been a huge Boys fan since 1981, suffered thru the 1-15 seasons, 5-11 seasons, live in DC where I HATE the skins. But heres why:

As much as I like the boys to beat the skins on Sunday, I dont see it happening. I can see us losing like 24-17. Thank god for the Bears. I did not see us winning had the bears lost. Losing jason campbell was the best thing for those skins. lucky *******s.

skins will be the final seed. i can see them winning a close game in Seattle. the media will love it and play up the sean taylor angle.

skins will then go to dallas. this matchup scares me. We were lucky to win that close one in November when Campbell threw that pick to Newman. An experienced Todd Collins will not throw that pick. What if Romo's thumb is hurt? what if he's rusty from the layoff? Will TO be ready? also, who knows about Wade phillips. Hes been a great coach but he did choke in buffalo and denver. remember, 2 years ago Steelers beat the colts after a layoff. HFA is great but no guarantee.

Worst case scenario is skins beat us, and meet green bay in NFCCG. that would be a nightmare. like sodom vs gamorrah.

I hope I'm wrong. any thoughts?

we were lucky? so you just assume the skins would have scored had Newman not intercepted? Also its not like Campbell was a fill in for an injured Collins. Campbell was (and may still be) the teams number 1 qb. I dont consider us lucky for winning that.

Personally I think the Seahawks and Commanders match up well. I think the Commanders should earn that respect from the Seahawks as well.

And what makes them better ? I think its pretty clear that the NFCE is the toughest division in football, with the most depth.

Yes but to be perfectly honest ..... I think the Eagles are a better team than the Skins.

And they might be and caught some bad breaks.

Not like the Commanders haven't had their share of adversity this season.

Hmm...

Seattle's passing game is better.
Their quarterback is better.
Their receivers are better.
Their offensive line is better.

Washington has the edge at running back and defensive unit.

The Seahawks will outscore you.

That would be the worst case scenario. Not saying I'm afraid of them or think it'd happen. Just saying that the worst case would be winning the division, gaining homefield and then going one and done against the Commanders, a team that was 5-7 in early December.

The second worse case scenario would to go one and done against the Giants.

I think Seattle has the DE's to really hurt anything Collins might try to do. They simply don't lost playoff games at home, snake oiled football or not!

Nor should you fear playing them. The Seahawks have had a very easy schedule and have not done that well against it losing to the Cardinals, Steelers, Saints, Browns, and Panthers and beating weak teams like the Rams and 49ERs. They are not that strong a team and should be worried about anyone they face in the playoffs.
