Oh my gawd that was funny. Here's my favorite part:rkstevens;1432587 said:This is all I need to know about what Commanders fans were feeling about the signing of not just AA, but also Randle-El, Andre Carter and the rest of their free agents. I wonder if Art will do a follow-up now that the season's over about how the Commanders are so much smarter than everyone else?

The Washington Commanders are managed, coached and owned by highly professional people who know more about running a football franchise than ALL the unnamed, anonymous sources any reporter has yanked from the broom closet and quoted.
Don't take my word for it. Take the following words for it.
Brandon Lloyd, Antwaan Randle El, Adam Archuleta, Andre Carter, Todd Collins, Christian Fauria.
The question you all should be asking isn't, "How is all this possible?" No. The question should be, "How didn't we know this was all possible?"

rkstevens;1432641 said:Well, coincidentally, he wrote this in a thread on ES where the article was posted:
"We don't have a lot of draft picks because we actually sign guys who were drafted, proved they could play and remove the element of risk you get in the draft. We also don't have many available spots for players to make it on our roster, given how complete it is, so, we have the option of being a little more targeted than some teams. We could just build up 10 picks and see one of them do anything for two years kind of like the Eagles did in the 2004 draft, but, we get more impact than that by getting guys who can play in the league instead of guys you have no idea on."
The part in bold is what I love the most. And I've read it from many Commanders fans -- not just Mr. Art. Yeah, Archuletta and Brandon Lloyd were not risks at all. I mean, who wouldn't spend $10 million in cap space for a year of a proven commodity like Archuleta instead of taking the risk to draft a unknown safety? And who wouldn't trade your picks for a proven wide receiver like Lloyd instead of risking drafting one like Colston, Jennings, Baskett, Williams or Holmes (all of whom had more yards than either Lloyd or Randle-El)? Yep, those signings were no risk at all.

I grew up in Commander country in the Joe Gibbs era. Yikes. Down here in southeastern Va (Tidewater), things aren't so crazy. They're more into high school athletics, is my feeling, because of the success they've had around here at turning out professional athletes.dffl31;1432658 said:that statement is like a blanket statement for all Skins fans. It is crazy how many fans said those same words to me. I happen to live here in hell (Commander country) and to a man...its always the same thing "we get (buy) proven vetern players instead of draft picks"...its sick how they think truly SICK...but until they (Skins) get a GM and stop relying on Snyder and his tennis partner (Vinny Cerato) it will always be this way....and i love it!
Art's an authoritarian nutcase, like a 1970s Latin American dictator.theebs;1432654 said:good grief. This guy is a big shot on the skins site? R U kidding me. Again he is referencing the eagles. Is he crazy?
in 05 the eagles first 8 picks in the draft are all contributing.
in 04 the eagles didnt do too much in the draft but andrews is a beast and ware contributes. Tapeh, perry, ware all contribute.
Again comparing the Commanders and eagles organization is insane. I think most of the skins fans were fooled by the 05 season. They played some bad quarterbacks and a severely injured eagles team down the stretch and then played a young qb in the playoffs. I really think they overlook that. It was much like our 03 season where we played a bunch of bad quarterbacks and teams with injured running backs.
Amazing. I would love read more this guys stuff, but I am not going to that site, it is awful.
