hmmm...i cant really speak for randomc's, but i think if you take another look at his post, he was looking all of the mistakes of the front office in this debacle and in a retrospective way saying 'doh, what were they thinking?' in retrospect, seeing as clark, who we had, played well at times for pittsburgh and AA - the highest paid safety in the league- did not. and so on a so forth with the rest of his post recapping the moments when skins fans went
with regards to everything AA this past season.
i'll be honest- i think there are a number of things that went into his failing here in dc, starting with springs and prioleau being hurt. its hard to believe the FO thought arch was going to be a cover safety when everyone knew he wasnt good at that. seems his role changed- and anyone can correct me on this if i'm wrong- when the skins lost 2 important players in the secondary before the opening kickoff was done.
taylor with his speed did well in coverage the previous year. arch was supposed to be good in run support. seemed like a good combo at the time, although i've always thought his contract was over the top- how could you not? so, with as much of a fiasco as the signing turned out to be, i can only guess that the injuries killed what they wanted to do with him, at least thats part of it.
as far as lloyd, i dunno why some are more eager to give him a second chance. they should have signed el and been done with it. at the time i was wondering why they got both. loved lloyds highlight catches and he put up ok but not great numbers with no qb and nothing around him, so i hoped for the best. what happened to him? probably had to do in part with the QBs adapting to a new system (another questionable move by the FO in changing the system) and brunells reluctance/inability to throw downfield. if they let him go, i cant say i'd be upset, but i'd love to see him show some of that athleticism.
