Schefter asked two NFL people about Prescott

Nice find thanks Percy.

Obviously still premature. But I will say that they bring a point I have also been making on Dak in that he is constantly looking downfield and has seemed to developed a feel for pressure. He's had several throws I would have expected him to tuck and run but he has hung in and delivered a 15+ play.

Yep...if he looks solid tonight it's time to really get excited. The first two games were impressive but the Rams and Fins aren't very good. Seatttle? We shall see.

I agree. Parcells was a horrible drafter and the scouts did good to overrule him. In 2003 he wanted DT Dewayne Robertson over Terence Newman. Lucky for us Robertson was picked by the Jets ahead of Dallas. In 2005 he wanted to take Marcus Spears at 11 instead of Ware. And he made Bobby Carpenter the team's top pick in 2006.

He also lobbied for the big bust out of LSU at Guard....name escapes me and the oft injured Safety as well. He had dismal draft evaluation skills. Jimmy was magical in Dallas but at Miami? Not so much. It's beyond tricky.

FWIW...

Adam Schefter:
I spoke to a couple of different people this week, who, when they'd heard all this Dak Prescott conversation, went and looked at the film of the guy. They were blown away at the decisions he was making, the skills he demonstrated, looking downfield, playing like a veteran. You could say, "It's preseason." That's what I said. I talked to a couple of people and asked, "What do you think? Is this overblown? Are we getting too excited over a guy after two preseason games?" And they went and looked at the film and said, "This guy has got it. He's got it. They've found their quarterback of the future." If they did hit on that pick the way that other highly intelligent people think they hit on the pick, they're set for the next 12-15 years.

Hopefullly you won't have to do stat gymnastics with this qb to prove how good he is. I see solid playoff stats and maybe a super bowl in this kids future.

Dak is good, but no where near as good as Romo.

He has been fortunate to have not thrown three interceptions in the last three quarters.

When you complete 80 percent of your passes and put up only 10 points, you didn't challenge the defense enough and you had a bad game. Dak had bad game tonight. Unless you really like 5-yard completions on 3rd and 7.

But overall he's been impressive so far.

Did you even watch the game? TWill was the one who didn't "challenge" the defense enough.

His. Receivers didn't help, if twill has caught that then we have been up by two scores.

No where good as Romo as a rookie? Romo had to sit for 3 years, and was about to be cut if not for Carter's drug prob.

It's true there was a lot of dink and dunk, but his yards per attempt would have been boosted if Williams could catch. Also on the road against Seattle with no Dez, the short passes may have been all that was there.

That's what Seattle does to you. They'll make you throw it short and if something opens up downfield, you better hit it or you may not get another chance. We had our chances, but for whatever reason, we didn't hit them tonight. Either way, I came away impressed with Dak again. It's always tough sledding against Seattle.

Hopefulllly. Keep an eye on our defense and you'll know soon enough.

I would think Staubach is the better as he lifter the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl.

Its a great dilemma to have, they were both great moves by the Landry era

I threw Walker in because of the trade value they eventually got for him, Staubach's on the field performance wins by a mile.
