http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...ny-romo-be-involved-in-potential-cousins-deal

"The three organizations could soon discuss a trade that would send Kirk Cousins to San Francisco, Tony Romo to Washington and draft-pick compensation (including the No. 2 overall pick in April's draft) to Dallas, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday, via sources informed of the potential talks."

This report has be debunked by Jerry and all others as without any basis in fact

The rumors of Romo impending release have been ridiculous. Why are people not listening when Jerry has been trying to put the breaks on these ridiculous notions. He's made it clear they are in no hurry to make any decision on Romo's future with the franchise. "Do right" by Romo does not mean the team gets screwed. If they employ patience, there will come a time Romo's services will be in high demand, either by the Cowboys or another team in contention.

Or Jerry is trying to make a market for Romo so there was a bidding war. Maybe Jerry didn't get the response he thought he'd get. So release him becomes the thought.

This would be amazing if that is the case.

If Dallas holds on to Romo between now and the weekend, we'll know Jerry is playing hardball and waiting for Denver, Houston and even KC to show their hands. If those teams are going to upgrade at QB, NOW is the time. Those teams are leaking this information to Adam and hoping Dallas will panic and release Tony in order to do "right" by him before FA starts and those teams could potentially go in another direction.

If Jerry releases Tony after the draft, I'm fine with that. I'll know he's exhausted all options. But with the rumors that Mike Glennon is going to get $15 Million a year I have a hard time believing Romo isn't worth $14 Million this season with 2 free club options in the future and no guaranteed money. VERY hard time believing that. We are talking about either Houston or Denver immediately becoming #2 or #3 in the AFC with Tony's acquisition. That's got to be worth something.

We can atleast get a 3rd for Romo. But of course we will screw this up. The Texans would give him the best shot. JJ Watt returning, good weapons on offense. And crappy division. Omg makes me mad just thinking about it

That was total and complete hoax. Come on
It was planted by Bruce Allen to get people off the idea that Washington is really a big fat dumpster fire right now.

I don't know why with that news as well as Jones' complete and utter denial, that people still think this fantasy trade will happen.

Then again, those people probably think that unicorns exist and there are pots of gold at the end of rainbows.

I am pretty sure I will break something if after releasing Romo, Jerry talks about how it was the fair thing to do for Romo and waxes on about how Romo deserved the right to seek his next team.

Well it's a credible source that gave me to idea to express it to yall. It ain't like I just came up with it ignorantly. lol
I know what your saying. I'm just telling you that they found out several hours later it was all bs. Let's just say Rappaport was not thrilled with this particular "source".

Furthermore, I'd go as far to say that part of Romo's do-right "unwritten understanding" is to not go to certain teams--especially Washington.

Signing Hardy was the problem, that's the year Dallas should have dumped a lot of Romo's money in but instead Jerry thought the team was close to a Superbowl contender.....don't know what glass he was looking through then but I'm guesing rose colored, the defense was a mirage, as it was last year that the offense helped cover up for....

I don't agree with most of that. That year the club had no viable QB alternative and the defense was pretty damn good last year. All they need is someone to get after the passer (Even with very little pass rushing attack the defense was very competitive last season).

Having said all that, the team does now have a QB in place and needs to do whatever they have to to ensure a decent pass rush. If that means trading the old QB then they should do it. Try to put Romo in a good situation if possible, but when it's all said and done this is about taking care of an entire team and fanbase, not just one guy.

We can?

Says who?

It is not like Romo has a price tag on him. If teams are smart, they will wait it out. Jones will eventually just blink and then it is over.

Well, not really. Then we get weeks and weeks of whining that we let a player with value go for nothing. Won't be the first time that happened, except this time this was a beloved player.

And people will probably praise him for being a swell guy.

No, you just ignored the 15 articles since that proclaimed it a hoax with teams officials stating no such talks ever took place and basically laughing off the whole idea of trading Romo to the skins.

If this is true, let him become a Commander and draft Myles Garrett and Adoree Jackson in 1st Round.
Please stop.

Posting the same three day old article that has already been shot down is pointless. It is not going to suddenly make it more true.
