Gotta love the media using "sources", just in general, and getting away with it. Somehow people buy into this crap.

Concerning police and race...it's not exactly the right topic for a Cowboys board. I will say that each of us have different realities and different experiences that shape how we see the world. It wouldn't be right for me to tell someone else that their experiences are wrong or just an over emotional reaction. Everything is gray these days.

I will say that I would like if some players took a knee in protest for the 30,000 people that die unnecessarily each year in America due to not having health insurance, or the 25,000 who are shot to death each year regardless or race. Or the fact that 50% of the people in America live in poverty. Or the fact that 50% of working people make less than $30k each year. Or the fact that half of the welfare recipients work full time jobs and make so little they still need welfare to survive.

We all have a different realities and we need to understand that even if we don't agree with someone else's position we are all a community and when one person hurts we should all hurt.

Or how about instead of taking a knee over a flag these athletes educate the uneducated? I guess that makes to much sense for those that want to throw around the race card or better yet stereotype others. The Reality is, it is easier to take a knee than it is to educate others. Go ahead and take a knee, your race or religion deserves it. lmao and ****

I can see a reporter like Schefter exaggerating a story about missing meetings or that type of thing; however, when he reported that there was a video it was much different, IMO. If there really wasn't a video, then he would really be screwing himself up by reporting that there definitely was one because he would be proven to be incorrect. I think he definitely believed that there was a video. If he did believe it, then either somebody pranked him or there was one but it disappeared.

At the time of the video story, I didn't believe it; however, since then I've changed my mind.

But he never did report there was a video.

It's clear in reading this thread that most of you have NO CLUE about Adam Schefter and his work. Nor how this game gets played.

Maybe this should serve as clue #1. Adam writes for NFL.Com....and for the NFL network. That's the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. Yeah those people that sell a product called American football.

For those playing along at home let me ask you...who pays Adam Schefter? Who would fire Adam Schefter if he screwed up? Who could get sued if Adam Schefter wrongly spewed nonsense about a player? Who does Adam have to make happy to get a christmas bonus?

Schefter writes for the League. That's his boss. The league owners have 100% control of everything that goes on at NFL.Com and on their network. The league hires lots of lawyers, lots of public relations people and they aren't going to let someone like Schefter "go rogue" in conveying a personal opinion that disparages a player about this kind of conduct. No. Way. In. The. World.

Schefter is part journalist. Part league spokesperson. Part entertainer. He's 100% employee of NFL and is always going to work for the interests of the league. Wrongfully smearing a player over his work habits would *not* be in the interest of the league, and would likely hurt league interests. Spouting unsubstantiated things about work habits just isn't going to happen. Adam has a thousand sources quite willing...in many cases...obligated to speak up. Adam isn't representing Adam. He isn't representing a newspaper. He's representing the league.

If you haven't noticed the league owners have constant negotiations with the player's union and has to keep the Union happy. The NFL also likes to keep the image of it's players on a positive tone. It's good business and you can be sure the NFL owners know a bit about business.

If you think Schefter is going to post something without it being scrutinized and verified...and triple-checked...think again.

Now let's get right down and spell this out. This article doesn't happen without Jerry Jones approval...quite possibly Jerry Jones request. Maybe Jerry is trying to start to build a case for a breach of contract suit. More likely Jerry is trying to light a fire under Dez's butt.

Get it in your head and don't ever forget: Schefter works for the owners and when writing about a Cowboy player...the #1 goal Adam has is to please Jerry Jones.

We will regret giving him that big extension. Not even this off the field stuff. He just does not make that big of an impact and injuries are now a concern.

The biggest compliment people give Dez is that he gets others open. For one, that's not exactly what I want to be paying that kind of money for. Elite WRs make impacts themselves. For two, I saw Butler, Beasley, TWill and Witten all open today with no Dez.

Alright I stepped in it and I'll man up and own it. I'm the one who was off base.

Schefter was an NFL employee (NFL.com and NFL network) but true.....has been with ESPN for awhile. Frankly I've not watched either network in years so I hadn't noticed.

That does entirely change my take on this story as I've known ESPN to have done questionable things with questionable motives on quite a few occasions.

I'm not sure I fully understand who the uneducated are and what you mean by the athletes should educate them?
The athletes who protest obviously feel some pain over their perceived injustices. Regardless of how you feel about the reality of the actually injustices vs their perception, it doesn't change the fact that they still feel pain. They are not taking this pain and using it to harm others. They are attempting to raise additional awareness.
It's not helpful or productive and does nothing to help their pain by trying to marginalize them by saying they should do more.

What do you mean by "go ahead and take a knee, your race or religion deserve it"? How does the African American race deserve someone taking a knee?

Their protest obviously makes you uncomfortable.
