Schefter: What the Cowboys/Packer Parsons trade means a year later

I've never thought of him as "toxic". Maybe a d****e.
When a player has teammates telling him to stop running his mouth creating distractions on podcasts and he refuses......he's toxic. Green Bay will see it. Wait until adversity hits. That's when the true nature of a low football character person like Micah shows up.

Compare that to getting Emmitt Smith, Russell Maryland, and Darren Woodson for Herschel Walker.
Yup, 2 HOF players (one who SHOULD be in) and another pro bowler…..a BETTER running back AND a HOF caliber safety and really good DT for the price of a lesser running back……and a few extra picks too!

No question we missed his play on the field
I'm questioning whether we do or not. Yeah some of the stats may have been better when he was around. But we were terrible with him and terrible without him. But the potential is higher with him and his large salary gone.

Yes for GB.
In what sense?

I am honestly curious since Jerry has succeeded in making you think trading an all pro was the right decision.

How many All Pro's did we get in return? How many sacks did we get in return? How about our Run Defense? Has it improved?

You all keep saying we won this trade, and no amount of yelling it out makes it true.

We got a washed up Clark, Q who we then neutered with this terrible DC hire, and Lawrence who doesnt look that great right now. Heck Yall were saying EZE was going to make up for Parsons loss. Welp. That didnt age well.

I am still waiting for someone, anyone to show me where Dallas won this trade.

Because it sure as heck aint on the football field.

I dont care about his podcast, I dont care about his antics, I care about his PLAY!

Or are you all still waiting on this magical schemed pass rush Jerry promised you?

 typical

We essentially traded Micah and a 2nd for Q, Clark, and Lawrence. Micah was on a hall of fame trajectory, Clark is maybe average, Q looks just agive average here, and Lawrence is a reach. For it to be worth it we needed the players we ended up with to be all pro caliber players…..it’s early, but looks bad….u can’t replace the impact of a dominant and disruptive pass rusher…..they said we needed to improve our run D, well, it got WORSE, and pass rush is non existent. When u can CONSTANTLY rush throws, when the offense has to change how they do things to account for the rusher, the D is overall better….a lot of those picks we gos in early 20s were because of rush. And it’s all becasue Jerry is a petulant, stubborn, arrogant jerk over Micah wanting to use his agent, LIKE EVERY OTHER FREAKIN PLAYER DOES.
Well a downside is Micah’s presence allowed them to overrate blands ability

What it means is LET'S STOP TALKING ABOUT IT AND FOCUS on the players we have here Micah who?

The trade was horrible but not for reasons the board gives. The biggest issue is Jerry has traded or used multiple draft picks to try to get this defense to an average level. I believe the Cowboys would have been better off keeping the picks and using free agency to improve the team. Instead Jerry panics and starts overpaying for talent. Let’s not even talk about the horrible extensions the Joneses gave Bland and Ferguson.

Micah being on the team would never have gotten us anywhere in the playoffs. Why bother going to the playoffs if you know Micah is going to disappear and you’re going to lose anyways? I’m pretty sure I remember a poster saying this but I can’t remember who. Lol

And Diggs. And fixing to be Porter and Pickens. Jerry loves to pay CBs and WRs. And CBs and WRs don't win super bowls. Or rather they are not the primary assets that win super bowls. Almost every year the teams w/ the best DTs appear in the super bowl, but most don't want to hear it and would rather promote those follow the ball players.
