His name is Jake. All players I know of that have the last name of Feruson are called Fergie. We use nicknames on this site all the time to save typing. I have no idea whatsoever if I was the first one that called him that. Really don't understand the relevance.

Yeah, I explained earlier in the thread that I had Luke Musgrave, the most talented TE mentioned in this thread, on my mind when commenting, hence my error in typing Luke instead of Jake. Honest mistake.

I have NEVER heard anyone that knows Jake Ferguson call him "Fergie", so no, "All players" with the last name Ferguson are not "called" that. That is the "relevance" and why I asked.

"Fergie" is actually a very common nickname for females with the last name Ferguson. The Black Eyed Peas singer, Stacy Ferguson, and also the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson were called "Fergie."

Just was wondering if that is your personal nickname for Jake? Now I know that it is.

Literally no one said that.
I was there..outside of Wisconsin the narrative was: The Packers are doomed without Favre. Not many outside of Wisconsin had not seen much of Aaron on the grass before the 2008 season. Just like with J-Love today.

I remember very well the narrative outside of Wisconsin in 2008. It was eerily similar to today with Jordan Love. You can deny the facts, but that won't change them.

From 3 different scouting reports on Schoonmaker:

"Ideal Role: Secondary tight end"

"might need a year or so before he works himself into a full-time TE2 role."

"Potential Role Player/Round 4"

well at least he's old.
We really reached but thats the Cowboys way. Hopefully it works out.

https://insidethestar.com/luke-schoonmakers-injury-woes-improving-hunter-luepkes-roster-bid/?feed_id=2270&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=rpaolinelli&utm_campaign=FS Poster

Article talks about this giving Luepke more of an opportunity but also mentions the Cowboys knew of the injury before he was drafted. I guess you can take that two ways. First would be they don't (or at least didn't) think it would be an issue. Second way to look at it is it makes the pick a little more questionable. If he isn't on the field by 8/15 I'll start to worry about his availability. Right now I'm not too concerned, just more disappointed that I don't get to read about how one of our early picks is doing as that is my favorite part of the first couple of weeks of camp.

Since it appears to make you happy, sure.

Every player that is talked about gets a nickname. I have no idea how you have missed such an obvious fact!!!!!

Stephen Jones on TheFan said that he expects Schoonmaker to return to practice by the end of the week.

It was tongue in cheek - more on the injury than the player - tho would have preferred a O-lineman instead.
I would've been happy with a good OL pick, but I think Schoon is going to prove to be a better all around TE than Shultz.
C'mon Schoon! Go for it! Course what do I know, I thought Fred Beard and M. Parsons were good good picks too.

Because I saw him working out and it was pretty obvious.
You are aware that all injured players work off to the side at camp? No matter if they are recovering from a serious knee injury and not expected back soon, or any injury.

I don't know when Schoonmaker will return, but seeing him working off to the side at camp gives zero indication of when a player is returning.

If he does come back, one should hope that pesky Plantar Fasciitis doesn't flare up again. Recovery from the partial tear of the plantar fascia doesn't mean that the Plantar Fasciitis can not recur.

No, they don't. Going on the cords is the last step before returning to practice. Before that they rehab in the rehab facility.

Injured players work off to the side at camp in many stages of recovery. The end.

I'm not going to play your little game of trying to debate things you have zero expertise in. Just because you type something doesn't make it fact. You can type your BS until your fingers are blue and that won't change a thing. I saw Bakhtiari working off to the side throughout his recovery from his knee injury over the past couple years. Same thing this camp with Rashan Gary and others.

Have a wonderful day!

Because he literally said to the media that it's feeling good and that he hopes to be back at practice in a week or two.

He's doing rehab to get back in football condition so he can practice. That's how they do things.

Missing all OTA's, mini camps and TC is how they do things? Sounds like a plan. Great way to hit the ground running for a rookie. He shouldnt miss a beat.

And now "REHAB" is to get into football shape? Is that also how they do things?

Doing what? Its more likely your being overly homerish and optimistic like you typically do.

First bit of good news came out today from Jones saying he may actually be able to come back to practice in a week or two. But we know how that goes with Jones. Either way he will have missed all or most of TC. Not good for the kid as a rookie TE.
