Starting, Stopping, Cutting will be lots of fun for the rook with a PF foot issue. Thought he would have been good, this won’t help.

I am hoping the Cowboys scouts saw something in him that I did not.

It is way too early to label him a bust, but to be fair, he did not come into the NFL with high draft round stats and so far he has not been able to get on the field due to injury.

You can root for someone and hope they do well and even surprise you, while at the same time accepting the fact that they are not starting off very well.
I feel it’s a Michigan thing. They are like the Wisconsin’s, Iowa’s from the Big Ten.

They are the smash mouth, hit you in the mouth types so their #s aren’t as flashy as the Ohio States.

The people like me in the middle, get to label both sides…
I find myself in the middle most of the time, but I still get labeled the moment I post anything including news or facts, so that's not really true.

Every person thinks they are objective.

Remember that one time a player homer pointed out that the player dropped a ball? That was them being critical of that player so despite the other 99.9% of the time they are blindly supporting that player, that one comment justifies their "objectivity".

Remember that one time a player hater pointed out that the player did not suck as bad as usual that game? That was them being positive and supportive of that player so despite the other 99.9% of the time they are blindly hating that player, that one comment justifies their "objectivity".

The only time someone is truly objective is when they do not have an opinion.

I hope that's the case and there have been times where college players flew under the radar because of limited opportuntiies or they were not used in a way that showed their true potential with their college team.

I really want to believe the Cowboys scouts saw something in him that I did not when I watched his college tape.

Regardless, no matter my thoughts on players, I support all of them when the games are played.

After the season ends though, I might want the Cowboys to move on from them :D

LOL, some of our picks have been injury bitten , but plantar fascia is no joke , each time your foot comes in contact with ground with your weight behind you will feel it. Schoonmaker is a big guy - 250lbs and that is not easy.
Pain management.

TE's generally are underused in college football. Witten didn't have big numbers. Neither did Kittle, Kelce didn't until his senior year.

It would be hilarious if Witten paid him a visit and jokingly told him, "Rub some dirt on your feet, rook!"
Staff can manage it and they will keep Schoon as comfortable as possible, but Schoon is going to be feeling it after gamedays, all season.

An injury isn't what I consider a knock as far as not starting off well. Not starting well was kelvin Joseph being a healthy scrub as a rookie in camp.

I never said he wanted to be injured.

I said that after having a well-respected tightend on the team for many years who only missed one game in his career, having a rookie who cannot even get on the field to start his career is a huge let down.

As Parcells (an NFL coach) always said, "You are what you are" and right now, Schoonmaker is injured.

Maybe that will change .. and hopefully it will .. but again, as I also said, he is not starting off well .. and that is VERY accurate.
I see how you stresed..an NFL coach....that's comical. Anyone that has played or coached know the stress, grind and work ethic...at
ANY LEVEL. Those that haven't won't get it.

This injury is really setting him back and will likely make his rookie season a wash. A rookie can’t afford to be missing time. This injury is going to be a problem for him all season. He’s going to continue to aggravate it. There could come a point where he ends up on IR.
