Its a real lost opportunity because the defensive roster last season was pretty packed and poised to get to the next level but Uberpuss ruined their chance

Some would say he did a good job getting them to 7 wins given how bad the D roster was.

This is the type of thing that builds men and camaraderie.

Its been well documented that the Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force at D-Day had his troops line dancing the Macarena the night before the invasion

What makes him a good hire now vs last year was his ability to have a hand in picking out his DC and defensive staff. More often than not if the Head Coach can't pick his staff you see glaring issues that year. Coach still has to pick the right coordinators and assistants but having a hand in the process means better coaching alignment from the HC down.

He wasn't the worst on paper. Vrabel, Carol and Johnson, I get, but there was nothing to suggest Schotty would be worse than Moore, Glenn and Coen. It was mentioned that he had been an assistant coach for over 10 years, never hired as head coach. But many fail to understand or care that he turned down head coaching interviews coz he felt he wasn't ready.

He absolutely was the least likely candidate at the time and someone who wasn’t sniffing an opportunity as an HC. This is revisionist history, Glenn literally was a coordinator on a contender.

Find me 1 sourced article about schotty turning down head coach opportunities in the last 10 years? That isn’t him saying. They don’t exist. His stock was highest when he was on the jets teams with Rex. Also had a nice run in Seattle for a year or 2. Him saying he turned down jobs bc he wasn’t ready is completely made up and if he did it was from his earlier stints in the 2010s with the jets.

He was the only candidate not sought after by any other team but Dallas. Doesn’t mean he CAnt be the best hire eventually or as good as the others but this is utter bs lol.

On paper he was the least sought after, no other spot was looking for him and if he didn’t get the Dallas gig he’d never get a hc job

I posted more than once the three distinct occasions when Schottenheimer stepped in and publicly slapped Eberflus around.

There are three or four regulars who hated the hire from day one, and I feel pretty confident that even if Schottenheimer won a Super Bowl they would say it was in spite of the coaching and not the result of it.

They expect a head coach to be able to walk in the door here and in year one force Jerry to sit in the corner and be quiet. Jimmy couldn’t do it and quit as a results. Parcells couldn’t do it and didn’t even try.

Even if he won a Super Bowl, they’re also the regulars who have hated everything about the team since Jimmy left.

Yeah well he hired CP. The Jones' hired Eberflus. Again he deserves the credit and feel he should be judged more now because he now has hired his team to fulfill his vision for this team.

Schotty is growing on me.

But I’m just saying we can’t all consider him a good coach until he starts to win more games than he loses. Despite the reasons.


I would love to see him fulfill the family dream of winning a Super Bowl too. For his dad.

You could see he was setting by the tone last year when he sat Pickens and Lamb against Raiders last year. This year team is serious and focused. Feel like this staff is coaching without Jones meddling

As much as ive thoroughly enjoyed the Greek Dancing, Ice Cream Socials, Dwarf Tossing and other team activities, I think it fair to give Shoddy more time to put this team in his image now that hes actually finally getting a real NFL roster.

Looking forward to seeing the starting defense in action more than anything with this team
