Twitter: Schottenheimer on Jaydon Blue playing

How much earning does Blue have to do, does he have to run up the Rocky Mountains backwards with 6 football helmets in one hand??? Sheesh
I think he "earns" then does something to ruin it and has to "earn" again. He just cant consistently do his job.

I like that they are not giving him the rock because he is apparently acting immature and not taking things serious.
With the #2 RB spot up for grabs he could become a big time player. Not only as a RB with juice to off set J.Williams power style. But in the passing game alone he can be a dangerous weapon.

They need a dynamic back but as much as they need one, he is not doing what it takes and I think that is on him. To think they are just keeping him on the bench to hurt him and for other personal reasons is silly at this point.

Coming out in the draft he had maturity issues and fumbling issues. It would appear that he still has those issues. Add in to it that most rookie RBs are a liability in pass blocking early on.

There are times when fans complain when they play someone that does not seem to be ready to play and other times they think the coaching staff are just being silly and not wanting to play someone.

Pretty sure that they are not playing him just to be silly and for personal reasons as this team could use a dynamic change of pace RB who has the speed to take it the distance.

I do not see this as a S.Sanders and Stefanski issue like in Cleveland.

EVERY SINGLE POSTER that talked trash about that former Cowboys RB coach that criticized Blue during training camp should serve a one week ban.
Man, I like Blue. I wanted to draft him. But I always said it could take him a year or two to be NFL ready.

I'll worry year 3. I thought the fastest way to get him involved in the NFL early on was some reps in the slot. But he's probably just not ready yet.

Not a lot of wear and tear on Blue. But not a lot of experience under his belt either.

Read the tea leaves folks . Blue was a whiff round 5 and Mafah is invisible . If you bring Williams back he needs help or Williams physically will not hold up . Davis is not the answer .

I want him to work out too, but I would not hold my breath waiting to see if we should address the position.

There’s clear smoke and fire here that was identified by Dane Bruglar early, substantiated by the former Cowboys RB coach, and confirmed by Schotty at numerous points this season.

Schotty isn't wrong; it's the guys in here who thought a 5th-round stretch at the RB position would be capable of playing in his rookie year. Blue has had an excellent opportunity to make a name for himself on a team that will again have no RB1 on its roster going into 2026...the fact that he clearly hasn't jumped at this chance to do so is not good

Not just play, we had people here calling this guy jahmyr Gibbs lol

Schottenheimer is a dumb idiot. Stubborn mule stuck on his "I like big RBs" agenda is why he keeps Blue on the bench. Clearly, Jaydon Blue was a Jerry draft pick and not a Schotty draft pick.

Jerry, fire this idiot. His decisions cost you and the team the playoffs this season, and he is going to do it again next season if you don't get rid of him. Just wait and see...

Jaydon “I actually don’t have a fumbling problem because I recover most of my fumbles” Blue.

So Shatty is saying he's an idiot, and you can't fix him. "You can tell him what he has to do, but he's too dumb to do it." Is that what he's saying?

You have to admit that if you put Blue and his clear immaturity issues in at RB1, this team likely wins half of its games at least. There are multiple reasons as to why he was picked in the 5th round, and we 100% stretched for him due to missing out on plenty of others who could have made an immediate impact. There is no Schotty agenda here, and for the life of me, I cannot think of 1 5h round RB who played a key role in Year 1. There is a strong argument that even a top 5 RB in the draft will not succeed Year 1, so if Blue takes his job seriously and has the needed talent, he will work his way onto this team in '26. He did nothing to earn starts over D'Avopne, nor should he have been gifted the opportunity to do so without earning it

He has 4.3 speed.

Its almost like Blue expects the job to be handed to him because he's the running back with the most speed on the team. I respect Malik Davis each week because he seems like a pro's pro. Do what is ask of him and patiently wait when not called upon.
That's hilarious you don't see the difference Rico and Davis have both taken three plus years to get to that point, I failed to see how you guys can't distinguish the fact that it sometimes does take players that long for the light to come on,

you guys are all over blue and oh man Malik Davis, what a hero ,no he took over three years to get to this spot, and he's not even doing that much Rico didn't do anything his 1st three years in the league nothing, so anybody on Blues Short and Curly is about not being a professional well why don't you go ask those guys why it took them so long...

I'm betting for very similar reasons how about Nashawn Wright players like him all over the league it doesn't click for a while... So, anybody that wants to give up on Blue after his rookie season because he didn't see much time first of all Williams nobody seen that coming where he pretty much is available every game didn't get injured They've been relying on him wearing games that were out of control from the beginning because the defense is making them high scoring..

Therefore,

they're not running the ball 30 times a game the backup running back hasn't been much of anything except for to give williams a blow and none of them have been that impressive.

Did you Watch Davis get rag dolled on pass protection, did you would you like me to find that video clip and show you how he struggled in pass protection, and tell me how you think that that's the reason Blue hasn't got on the field..

If They're worried about Prescott ,well Prescott health was in mind by this team, why are the tackles not been replaced, lmao..

I Get it ,

whenever Blues done to get the dog house his practice habits his meeting habits his workouts whatever whatever it is him being late something happened but that does not take away from the fact that he does have all that speed I watched him personally at Texas every game i've shared his highlight reels the man can play football he's not just a gadget player this is not a Deuce Vaughn 2.0 situation but it's similar to sometimes I already mentioned it's what happens to players in the NFL why do you think that Israel kid is sitting on our practice squad with all his speed and talent it's because it's not easy for players to get from college or take that long route to another league and back like we've seen Turpin and Aubrey and Butler and others I mean is it that hard to figure out that players sometimes need some time To figure out how to be a professional...

Not just play, we had people here calling this guy jahmyr Gibbs lol
No that's not what people said People like me very accurate he's the same height weight and has the same speed and abilities that Jamir Gibbs has that doesn't mean he could be the same NFL football player doesn't mean he has the same mental makeup and catches on to the playbook and responsibilities maybe he doesn't have the same workout habits but yeah he's an absolute carbon copy of gibbs...

That's what people were saying but thanks for trying to twist that nobody said he was Jimmy Ear Gibbs we said he has the same exact attributes.. Highlight reels from Texas would you like me to post it also looks like Jamir Gibbs It's just not registering in the NFL, yet.

It may never whatever reason he's in the doghouse it doesn't matter it took Rico and Davis more than three years to find their way onto this roster and do anything in the NFL and somehow you're all over blue because why i'm just curious of why he doesn't get the time to develop before people write him off...

That's the ridiculous takes.

FYI Miles Austin did nothing for his first three years I remember when people talked about Romo he would never become anything in this league because he was undrafted and he just was raw the game was too big for him blah blah blah.

This can happen we just seen this with the corner Wright over there in Chicago Took him a while huh circle around figure out how to be a pro get a little bit better catch the eye of the coaching staff in the right situation and bam he's a solid player now isn't that funny...
