Schottenheimer on what he wants at RB and OL

The forum should be shut down. Nothing to talk about. Jerry sucks is the answer to every OP.
Just because its repetitive doesn't mean its not accurate though....

To be fair we should acknowledge that Stephen sucks should be sprinkled in as the correct answer to a few of these as well.

“I want a man with extensions in his hair; bamboo earrings, at least two pair; a Fendi bag and a bad attitude; that’s all it takes to put me in a good mood.” — Coach Schotty

Such a defeatist attitude about the run game. Hey, sometimes teams will just make a commitment to stop the run so we need to pass when they do.

A real running game imposes their will on a defense. They don't give a damn about what your commitment is on defense.

Keep in mind the reason he was let go in Seattle supposedly is he didn't run the ball enough. That was the "philosophical difference" between him and Pete Carroll.
I think it is a bit of oversimplification. Seahawks had Chris Carson as their starting RB and an oline that pass-blocked better than run-blocked. They also had one of the best WR combos in Lockett and Metcalf. They went 12-4 in his last year with them, and then 7-10 afterwards (presumably with less "philosophical differences").

None of it matters though, we know the outcome of this.

Really depends on what is added in FA and or the draft. The RT side of the line has problems with our current roster.
You don't think Steele will be better in year 2 of his recovery?
I am not asking as to disagree, as I do agree. It is an issue. But we know how this team thinks. That Steele is a viable RT.
Unless the new coaching staff can convince to FO meatheads differently.

I see them leaving Steele in there. Though depending on FA and the draft, they should give Guyton reps at RT.

I think our preference is to keep Steele another year.

I don't believe Jeanty will be there at 12. So we should either go best player available or trade back. If we can't find a trade partner, it would not surprise me, if we end up reaching for a need.

I would take a defensive lineman in 1st and get the best available RB in 2nd
One of the top 4 RB will be around and there are some really good options
After Jenty the next 4 are rated about the same although they are a little different style backs
