Schotty gave a Good First Impression

lol he is over 50 and is hardly inexperienced
Young in coaching experience. He was the OC here in name only. He also spent time as an assistant to his daddy and a couple of other jobs where he had very little responsibility. He certainly is not an experience heavy weight that could buck Jones and son. He lacks the "chops" that Ben Johnson, Vrable, Kingsbury, Deion, Moore or even Zimmer would have brought to the table. Jerry Jones will be pulling all the strings.

BS said they will win a Super Bowl, if that’s not rose colored glasses I don’t know what is. Terrible presser, a word salad with a nothing burger.

So do we just expect him to say he's here for the joy of fulfilling his dreams? If you don't talk about winning a Superbowl why should you even be a coach? Superbowl is a coaches #1 goal.

Well if he is being hired for a asst manager in charge of the French fries at your local Whataburger then he is in your top 3 .
I can already see why no other team has hired him as HC. Job too big for him. But I definitely see why Jerry got him. Long four years coming.

I am not impressed with anything he had to say. I would feel better if they hired a legit OC but that probably will not happen. How in the world is he supposed to call plays but doesn't really understand the X's and O's of the game? Makes zero sense. The best coordinators understand how to set the defenses up, counter what they are doing etc. Shotty is clueless. They might give him the year, blame their epic failure on a tough schedule but I doubt he lasts too long.

Again we dont know what he is as an HC, we do however know what this FO is and it hasn't been good for 3 decades...BS will be judged by on the field success, with this FO being his first HC backing the odds are not good.

He wasn't as strong a communicator as I expected. Seemed a little too grateful and kind of shocked he got the job. Also he isn't mean enough.
In fairness, Stephen and Jerry were very shell shocked and uncomfortable given all the criticism they are receiving. That didn't set him up well.
BTW - Stephen being not very smart is killing the organization.

He like us is surprised he got the job too.

Perfect candidate for the Cowboys for two reasons.

1) Willing to try and make a top level NFL QB out of Dak Prescott. (Good luck there)

2) A young inexperienced guy that Jerry Jones can easily dictate stuff to.
Prescott is a top NFL quarterback,
Only two seasons has he had a complete team on offense
If the Rams didn’t run for 5000 yards against us, maybe we could’ve gone further in the playoffs

It didn’t matter who was sitting between those two bozos, the Cowboys aren’t going anywhere with a couple of idiots running the team.

He could have left out the part about his family being criers. Nothing about what he or the Joneses said gave the impression he’s the right man for the job.
I think he meant "crier" as in "town crier"

The "HEAR YE HEAR YE!" kind

His father was the emotional type like Dick Vermeil. They’re criers. That’s what he meant.

Hang onto that dream buddy. A 31 yr old QB coming off his second major lower limb injury. Not mobile. Not accurate. Does not see the field well. A 2-5 playoff record. The Cowboys have a real need for help in the QB room.

I’m not talking now, you’re putting him down for the past
