Schotty gave a Good First Impression

I’ll say this I loved the Rex Ryan Jets / Mark Sanchez / Nick Mangold / LaDanian Tomlinson D’Brickashaw / they had a collection of really good not great players and they had Pittsburgh beaten In the title game - shame they lost.
Schottenheimer was the OC and their offense was power football .
But that was 15 years ago and really his career since has been recycled garbage,
I still dont know what made him qualified.
He was down the hall cheap and comfortable. We will be right back here in 4 years rinse and repeat.

I don't know how successful Shott will be, but his introduction as HC went pretty well.
He displayed some sense of authority and didn't seem a Deer in the Headlights person who knew he wasn't up for the job.
He didn't seem to be wearing Rose colored glasses and just a puppet for Jerry who was more cheerleader than coach.
The players, at least the Offense, seem to support the hire displayed by their presence at the Press conference.
I'm more worried about the resources player wise available to him being his biggest hindrance than of his coaching ability.
He mentioned culture change twice, so that is good, I am curious if he might get something going in that area.

none of the coaches in the NFL are really qualified, that is all in your head.
If they are all qualified, then why do 90% of them fail , some quite badly ???????

Being a good OC/DC is one thing being a good to great leader is totally different, and this is where most are lacking.

Hahahaha oh look Rockport showed up. Like we wouldn’t notice the quitter would be back?

:lmao:

Thought he gave a pretty good account of himself. Mostly standard coach speak, but wasn’t that expected? Moment didn’t seem too big for him and got the sense the relationship between he and Dak will be a good for the team.

Jerry on the other hand, was taking long walks down memory lane. With his deliberate delivery and constantly saying “Schotty” he was reminding me of a poem read by an elderly Jimmy Stewart on the Johnny Carson show about his dog named Beau. Schotty is Jerry’s Beau.

Then, as if to close the loop on my Schotty is Jerry’s dog moment, and this is at the very end, Jerry kind of looked down toward the ground and I think gave him a pat on the leg (maybe) and said, “Good Boy”. Can anyone confirm this? Did Jerry officially make Schotty his ***** in front of all of us?
