Many on this board saw the dearth of talent on the defense this offseason and were concerned.
We signed and traded for a few Jags and said we good.
The lack of a professional GM is killing this team.

The biggest elephant is Jerry's incompetence as a GM.
He has singlehandedly run this franchise into the ground.

This is pretty much it.

If you are going to put this kind of roster out there where you once again nickel and dime in free agency to fill glaring holes you needed to pair that roster with an elite staff.

Instead we just applied our cheap FA plan to the coaching staff and ended up with a HC that has been in the NFL for years and couldn't sniff a head gig and a retread at DC who has never really put an elite defense on the field at any point in his career as a DC or HC.

At this point, I can't tell if Jerry is just a ********* idiot or he's doesn't care anymore.

I doubt Eberflus was Schotty's first choice as a coordinator and he doesn't fit the personnel they have at all. Jerry has to surround himself with people who will "fit into what they are doing" rather than getting the best person for the job.

Schotty brought in Klayton Adams to help fix the run game, probably the best hire this team has made in a long time.

I remember during the offseason everyone over the moon at the coaching staff Schotty put together.

There was just no way that Jerry would’ve been smart enough to put together that staff. It was all Schotty and part of the culture change.
