I really cant say "how much lower can our coaches get" if they keep Moore over Rush. No one cares of stats, intelligence or "what your QB thinks" over touch downs and the bottom line is Rush produces touch downs. The guy takes the same group of players the big difference between how Rush plays and Moore plays is that Rush tells the players, "we are getting that touch down".

I lost a lot for Linehan, but this decision is going to prove to me if hes willing to put his average skills above winning.

Oh and by the way, the whole "Moore has more yards than any QB who has played this preseason" is the dumbest statement yet.

I mean for starters, Moore has played more than anyone and thrown more passes than anyone in preseason. Duh.

Hey, as long as they keep Rush, then Linehan can have his pet cat in Moore.

But if they cut Rush and lose him because they want to keep Moore on the 53, that's beyond moronic.
Yea but keeping Moore will more than likely make us lose players like, White, Duke Thomas, and Noah Brown..

Moore should not be on this team

Scott Linehan has lost it

There is certainly some truth to what Linehan says; the fumble wasn't all on Kellen. That said, it does beg the question, why are 3rd stringers playing better for Rush than 2nd stringers are playing for Kellen? From my limited point of view, that could suggest the 3rd stringers have more confidence in their signal caller than the 2nd stringers have in their signal caller. It could also suggest that Rush is calling the correct protections at the line and Kellen isn't making good presnap adjustments to cover his backside.

So, when you balance that against the fact that Rush by far throws a prettier pass than does Kellen, I honestly don't know what is left to debate in terms of who is better? Does Kellen beyond a shadow of doubt do anything better than does Rush to justify being the primary backup to Dak. Once again, from my limited point of view, he does not. But Linehan's view is in no way limited; so if anyone could answer that question, it would be Linehan.

That said, you have to decide: Do you trust Linehan to know better? For my part, I trust Linehan...but I also acknowledge that there is a distinct possibility that Linehan is too inside the picture to see the frame; too close to both quarterbacks to make a fair decision. That aspect of the issue is considerably disconcerting.

With the starting OL and skill position guys, Moore can occasionally dink and dunk his way between the 20s but when it gets tough in the red zone, he doesn't have the arm to rifle one into a tight spot. If Rush plays well in the next 2 preseason games, it's a no brainier. He looks more like Dak did last year than most of the QBs that got drafted. You don't give up on that potential and you don't keep Moore over another promising young player. Moore may make the team initially due to all the suspensions, but that will give them some more time to see Rush prepare for actual games and I think Moore will be cut to make room for a player coming off suspension.

If Moore doesn't break is leg last year, you think they let Dak start over Moore?
I did wonder that same thing recently. And I also wonder if this coaching staff as a whole is so committed to not allowing fans/media to dictate roster moves, that they extend more chances to perceived weak links than is necessary or warranted.

It's not that simple. Moore is taking up a roster spot that can go to someone else, instead of carrying three QB's for no good reason.
Honestly, if the Cowboys keep Rush at the expense of absorbing 3 spots on the 53, I'll get over Kellen Moore's presence. But if they cut Rush to keep Moore, I'll have some serious concerns about our coaches decision making. From my perspective, though, like you, the most ideal scenario would be to move on from Kellen. But given Linehan's crush on Kellen, I simply don't see that happening. I hope for it, but I doubt it.
