Scout: I'd hate to be team in need of QB in 2016 NFL Draft

Some scouts are not very good at their job or they're just dumb. Not sure which one this guy is.

Last year there was really only two decent Qb prospects and I felt like neither one was worth a 1st rd pick. Winston and Mariotta are having ok yrs I guess but so did Rick Mirer. I still don't think they'll develop into elite QBs.

While there isn't any slam dunk Qb prospects I this draft, there are several good Qb prospects. How hard any of these guys work to develop into a great Qb is anybody's guess. None of us know any of these guys and can only guess on the intangibles they may possess to have what it takes to become an elite Qb.

Dak Prescott
Christian Hackenberg
Carson Wentz
Connor Cook
Brandon Doughty
Kevin Hogan

All of these guys are pretty good prospects. Not saying they'll all be elite or even starters. But right now they all have something about them that could be developed into a serviceable QB in the NFL. So this scout is just lazy

not even attempting to to draft a QB says a lot about this FO and why we are in this mess.even the packers drafted a QB this year.even the patriots drafted a QB high.we are the only team with a top QB which has not drafted a QB in recent years.

This is why I send a 3rd/4th to Cleveland for Manziel - the fact that he's not even 23 yet and has proven to some degree to be able to play in this league even furthers my point.

I don't follow college all that much so I wanted to see what a guy that size looked like playing QB.



Look at the play at 0:23. That's 65 in the air off a little crow hop. I wish they still had the longest throw competitions. I'd like to see how far he could put one out there.

Absolutely no one thought this. Rodgers dropped because teams had more pressing needs than (at that time) a backup QB.

And that was their fatal thought process they drafted for need. Two teams (Minnesota and Dallas) had two shots and passed.

And it was not about "pressing need" in the most real sense. Tampa Bay took Cadillac Williams to pair with Earnest Graham. So Brian Griese and Chris Simms were so good that they could not have used Rodgers for the future?

If teams don't self evaluate properly, you see things like this.

In an era where QBing is so important, I cannot think of any rational reason why any team with an aging and beat up veteran QB would not start thinking 2-3 years out for the life after.

Dallas is in a unique situation. Our GM cannot get fired. There is no pressure to "win now" because of what is perceived as a backup.

They need to be a little more forward thinking because they have the luxury to be able to do so. If done right, this can work.

You won't have to trade for him. Cleveland will cut him and this team will have high waiver priority. Just sign him then.

If THAT scenario actually does take place, I think it's almost s done deal he ends up in Dallas.

Late round QBs are there if you have patience and a great staff to develop him. It is clear Parcells and the Cowboys had that from 2003-2005 when Romo was able to sit and learn.

Not just QB. All positions they have trouble developing.

I don't trust our current structure, no. I would fire Wade Wilson and hire me the best QB coach I could find first.

The rub about late round versus first round is you have even less time to get them under contract. It is not a huge deal, but you have to be prepared to sign them to an extension. Denver now will have to pay through the nose for Osweiler.

Nope, also take a look at Dunbar. It took 4 years to get him involved and that was out of necessity.

the best post and the most sensible one ,hope our FO finally sees the light and drafts a good QB.

I want ZEKE. Most important player to our entire team last season was the running back.. This team fed off of our running game and this guy could get it going again. He also has elite vision!

Elite vision? Not so sure about that. His best runs are on inside zones and he shows an amazing ability to churn through traffic and then turn on the jets at the second level. When someone says elite vision, I think Emmitt Smith. Not saying he has bad vision, I just would put it behind his power and speed.

I started one about a month ago after looking at the QB's and TE's that were coming out, I think the rage a month ago was the Penn st QB he has fallen off the radar since then. Hard to for me to understand people so up about drafting a QB in rd 1.
If the landscape stays the same I would be satisfied with trading the pick for a one the following year if that was ever an option. Class after this one has some talent. Like every year it seems the juniors are better than the seniors.

Just saying that it should not take four years to uncover what potential he may have. He was buried under the depth chart and still would have been if Murray stayed. It took a mess of a running back situation to get him some real playing time which showed that he has some potential.

The same can be applied to our TE's, I have no idea what lies there because they are also buried.

IMO, it seems to take a lot more to get PT on Dallas than many other teams for varying reasons.
