I like him but still think he could drop to us at 34. Carr and Bridgewater were slotted as mid first round two years ago and both were taken at the top of the second.

There's a sweet spot at the back of the first where any QB starved team knows it can hop up and get whatever numbered QB slips past the early 20s at a relative discount. If they wait, the rest of the league gets an overnight to consider trading up. Somebody always makes the jump.

If we want Lynch, we're going to have to jump back up to the early 20s. Or move down form 4 to get into that neighborhood that way.

I still think Lynch goes much higher then the media thinks. I don't see him getting past both SF and SD

I can't see him go that high, but that SF pick is about as far as I'd move back if I decided I wanted him. If they prefer Goff, for example, I'd slide back and add another top-100 player. If they like Spence as much as has been let on, there's a backup plan there people could live with. Or Elliot comes into play.

I would be pretty intrigued if he was at 34, but I wouldn't make any deals to go up. Frankly, he's got bust practically stamped on his forehead. None of these overgrown, small forward-sized quarterbacks have ever done squat in the NFL. The typical franchise QB still looks like Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers, not Shawn Marion.

Lol
Good stuff. 6' 6 1/2
Can't say I know how he'll turn out...or even Wentz or Goff..for sure.
But this guy in only about 1/4 in taller than Flacco and 1 1/2 taller than Big Ben

If he's still there in the mid/late 20s , Dallas' 2nd and one 4th will do it if they can find a partner.
Need to get ahead of Denver at the very, I would think

I'd think you'd have to give up more than a 4th. A 3rd? Yes. But I'm a bit leary giving up a 3rd and a 2nd to move back into the first. But if he's Romo's heir, I guess you gotta pay the price.

From my observation, 6'5" seems to be the absolute upper limit. Joe Flacco isn't really any good and would likely be holding a clipboard by now if Rahim Moore could be trusted to bat down a pop up to center field.

The NFL has been chasing the dream Robo QB for years, 6'6", bazooka arm, runs like the wind.... they all go bust. Meanwhile the most recent entrant to the elite QB club is 5'11" Russell Wilson.

Our early 2nd and 4th gets us up to 28 or so. Any higher and it'd have to be more. Yeah, the 3rd woul be too much.

The best way to grab a lot of value/picks woul be to trade down from 4....even just a little.
Then use some of the extra juice to move around.

I guess you don't like him,but the NFL MVP was 6'6 this year

Give me a QB 6'2 - 6'4 personally

I think he's more commonly listed at 6'5" but I realize these measurements are all over the place. Peyton is also alternately listed as 6'5" and 6'6".

I'm not the biggest Cam fan, I think he will turn back into a pumpkin as soon as his supporting cast drops off even a bit. But he definitely deserved the MVP last year.

My overreaching point on robo qbs is that if you look at the "elite" QBs in the league, they are not super athletes who "check off all the boxes". They are usually smallish, with middling tools who get by with guile and skill. They may have one "elite" trait (Brees accuracy, Rodgers arm, Romo release, Wilson speed) but be underwhelming in other areas. Brady and Peyton have excellent size but were plodding athletes with average arms. Yet GMs continue to draft freakish robo qbs who "check off all the boxes". These guys keep going bust over and over. Lynch has bust stamped on his forehead.

Where did you get this opinion from? There hasn't been enough 'dream Robo QBs' around the league to label them a bust.

Just my 2 cents, but I don't see S.F. picking a QB at 7. They have too many needs and I think the 49er's FO wants to see what Kelly can do with Kaepernick, and Gabbort.

There have always been robo QBs,... I believe Todd Marinovich was the original robo qb to go bust. They are not always freakishly tall like Lynch and Wentz, but the theme of being a super athlete physical specimen who happens to play QB has been around for a long time... and going bust.

Meant to say Philadelphia not SD.

I can see a situation where SF wants Goff and we want Lynch and swap picks and get a 2nd. I wouldn't be too worried about Philadelphia because without a 2nd they are really cuffed trading up.

Marinovich was such a fascinating story

I just watched 3 games of his...and WOW! This guy is impressive..

Why isn't this guy in conversation w the other two for top qb?

If you ask me...he might be the best of the bunch...

He by far has the most number of throws that translate to the next level on film...

Wow

To me Lynch's draft stock is one of the more interesting sub plots of this draft. Most media places have him anywhere from the mid first to early 2nd, but we all know how much those rankings are worth.

He is going to be one of those guys its going to be interesting to see the difference between what the media thinks of him VS what the NFL thinks

Ah, PHI makes sense there, yeah.
