Hi, my family and I are coming from Seattle for the game on Thanksgiving day. Of course....we love our home team and my husband is from Dallas...just trying to find out how the fans are down there. I have an 11, 6, and 4 year old that will be going to the game with us. Of course...dressed in Seahawks attire. Alot of fans up here say that it is not a good idea to bring them to your stadium in Seahawks attire...are the fans friendly? Of course....I expect friendly banter..but there were people who have said (and not to compare the fans to the Raiders fans) that at a Raiders game the children were spit on. It is not something that I would expect there. Does anyone think my children will be harassed? I can handle the banter...but not the kids.
Thanks!
Jenn

Have no fear.
Cowboy fans, especially those who can afford to park, buy drinks and pay the exhorbitant ticket prices, are not the types to hassle kids.
I've been told its the most passive crowd in the NFL.
Think of Cowboy fans as the oppostites of Raiders and Bears fans.

Um, Jenn, you have any good looking sisters?

I have heard of very few incidents at Texas Stadium over the years and I have never heard of anything involving women or children.

You are as safe as in your mother's arms. We aren't Eagles or Raiders fans.

Its one of those things, you kind of just have to hope you are sitting in the right section around the right kind of people. Its pretty much just dumb luck. However, in general I'd say Cowboys fans aren't anywhere near the top of rowdiest crowds, so you will probably be good.

You will have no problem. Of course you will hear the occasional "Seahawks Suck" but you will not be harrassed or threatened in anyway. You will hear the same profanity that you hear at any sporting event so just be prepared for that.

Your kids are probably safe, but I can't say the same for Julius Jones.

Just watch out for a guy called "Crazy Cowboy."

:muttley:

He'll be in a mask and will tell you thanks for attending.

Really, though, you'll be fine. Our fans aren't animals like in Philly or Washington.

He might harass you all with "Hey, wait until the second quarter!"

Or

"That's not the best colors for kids!"

or

"A shrewd move by Holmgren for sure!"

Gotta watch him.

It's a very corporate, dumb, uneducated and very unenthusiastic crowd. Cheer along with them as they create noise problems for the home offense early in games. You'll have no problems.

Take it away, theebs. ;)

no comment.

I am still trying to figure out when to cheer and when to go to the bathroom.

I definatly was not making a comparison to the fans of the cowboys and those of the Eagles or the Raiders. We do expect the friendly banter. I am glad to hear that it is a more laid back crowd. The kids are super excited to go to the game. We are taking my husbands elderly father who has been living in the Dallas area his whole life and has never seen the Cowboys play in the stadium. We thought it was about time...and we promised that when the Cowboys and Seattle play that we would either fly him up or we would fly down...well happens it is on Thanksgiving and we are flying down. Then I heard all the bad things that could happen and we are very humble Seahawks fans..(well...Quest field is a different story...but always respectful..just loud) and wanted some reassurance that things would be ok with the kids. Can't wait to go!

I've only been to a few games at Texas Stadium, but from what I've seen, the Cowboys fans are good to "other" fans. Before/during and after games, i've never seen/heard any incidents of name calling, throwing things, etc.

Cowboys fans have class for the most part. Enjoy the game!

Be thankful you aren't going to Philly :p
